How excited I was when little Millies 1st Birthday approached, only to discover how utterly disgusting and ugly she looked. Her parents arnt ugly at all, but for some reason she looks like a monster. With a piggish nose, a huge jaw and plump cheeks, I was utterly dissapointed in my monsterous creation. Is this a problem that occurs often with children or is my sim child just a freak of nature? And will she grow out of it? Will she be a better looking teen or adult?

Most of the children my sims have on the game are also freaks of nature, or simply look identical to eachother (even though they're not related).
A couple of them were thankfully just in an ugly-duckling phase, but a couple were scarred for life.

With your having facial features like that it may be a gamble. :)

Yep, toddlerhood is not a good measure for how they'll look as older sims. They all look a little freakish, though I've had a couple that were cute.

I've also had ugly kids turn out to be hotties as adults, and vice versa, so you just never know.

what have looks gotta have a lot of importantance? Everyone is human..beautiful in their own way.
I always think child sims..babies i mean they loook all alike.
But parents arent always the case LOL!

Yes, all of the babies in the game are identical. Once they become toddlers their true colors are shown.

i once had these set of twins, boy and girl, and the girl was gorgous (spelling?) she was perfect but then i tryed that boolprop cheat and was playing around with it seeing what everything did and i accidently deleted her! and i couldnt just not save it becase i had done so much so shes gone now... forever... lol

Once they become toddlers their true colors are shown.Gosh, I hope not. Joe's kid Simone is looking kind of goofy. I'm crossing my fingers for teenagerhood. Her mother's looks improved considerably at that point, although she never really shook the close resemblance to her father, Errol.

The thing is, I really, really liked the way Errol looked. That hound dog look, you know, just makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over. Doesn't work too well on a woman's face, though.

For the future so you know; if you delete a character save your game. Next time you go back into that house that sim will be standing next to the mailbox.

I've had one adult, freshly-graduated Sim leave his fiancee's lot as soon as I moved him in, for no apparent reason, and no amount of calling him over or trying to block his path would make him stay. As he kept doing it when I reloaded without saving, I decided to gamble and save the lot, to see if he stayed, and when I went back in he was there. I've since lost the entire family due to a powercut when I was playing them, though :(
ETA: What is it with all the (female, anyway) Sims having the same hairstyle when they reach childhood?? I've not noticed it so much with the boys, mainly because most of my kids seem to be girls, but it's probably the same with them too.

Well, you do have to be very careful with Boolprop. I don't know if you could get her back somehow using SimPE? She may still be knocking around on your hard drive, if you looked with SimPE maybe you might be able to find her again?

Well, atleast im not alone. I know looks dont really matter, but I was just dissapointed how ugly this child was. My sims still loved it, but i shuddered at the site of its boated cheeks and piggish nose.

My sims still loved it, ...And this is one of the wonderful things about this game. Sims love each other, regardless of looks, beautiful or ugly. They can ignore what their creators want them to do, too. I've created sims with the intent that they hate each other, only to find that, when I wasn't looking, they'd fallen in love. :D I think it's just great. Of course, you also get some who pick a fight and make trouble every chance they get. But the shape of the face has nothing to do with it, either way.

Hmm....sorry to be a newsance again LOL..but what does boolprop actually do? How would you have to type that in inside the cheat box...like could someone tell me exactly how it has to be typed in? tanks:)
gorgeous.hehe.

Sims2, I think that the nature of all of your questions here, including the ones that you posted today about using the mirror, or getting a cash register for your home business (till) tell me that using the boolprop cheat is not for you.

If you do a search of the forums in Worldsims and are able to read through all the discussions about the boolprop cheat, and understand them, then I could be mistaken about your level of experience. But I don't think so.

That's my very seriously considered recommendation to you.

I'm agreeing with Lynet that you should not be using boolprop. It seems like your skills of the game are not developed enough to be messing with a testing cheat such as this one. I'm not going to tell you how to type it in for that reason.

Sorry to be mean, but Sims2 we have told you time and time again that you need to:

1. read the booklet that game with your game to answer any questions you might have.

and 2. Do a search of the forums FIRST if you have questions. So many of your questions have been posted before by others or at least discussed here.

If you want to find out how to type it in you can do a search of this forum, but I for one will not assist you because I seriously think you're not advanced enough to play with that cheat yet. We're saying that for your own good so you don't ruin your game.

I have to third that sentiment. As far as I know, even the experienced gamers on this site avoid that cheat unless they REALLY know what they are doing, even then they use extreme caution with it.

I have been faithfully playing this game since it came out, I know a lot of tricks to it and I still avoid using the boolprop cheats.

I've never cheated:D
Yes i do know all the cheats, I've just never used them, never going to either.

I've only used it for my simself so far. I get kind of nervous when I type it in--I feel like my sim could turn into a mash of warped pixels or something if I do something wrong. :o

Yes, Sims2, I agree that you shouldn't be using boolProp yet. Just try enjoying the game the way it is first. Before asking what happens when you do something, try it out in the game. Unless it involves hacks or cheats, there won't be any negative results. Don't be afraid to have bad things happen to your sims. Oftentimes, the bad memories are the most amusing to watch. :)

I have never used any cheats in the game, never will, and have absolutely no idea about boolprop and I'm proud to be blissfully unaware lol.

sims2 - I agree with others when they say don't attempt to use boolprop. I think that you should buy OFB Prima Guide, read it all through (took me a couple of times and i'm an experienced simmer), and just play the game for a while - you will learn far more by playing it yourself and watching how things develop in the game than by asking others zillions of questions. ;)

The best part about playing sims 2 is discovering things for yourself - it's great fun when you see something for the first time in the game and I still find new things in the game even now. :) Sure, if you have a problem then ask away, but also you should read the other threads in the forum to see if someone else has already asked the question - your query will probably have been answered. :)

The Sims 2 is a lot of fun, but as you're not yet experienced with the game, I would spend a while reading the guide/instruction booklet and experimenting with the game - if it doesn't work out how you planned, you can always exit without saving lol. Have fun! :)

quod erat demonstrandum...

Sims2, have you figured out how to install downloads yet?

If you have, then go here: http://www.simchaotics.com/ On this site go to Merola's Sims 2 page and get the Multipainting (count down to item #8 to find it on Merola's list) and install it in your game. In your game you will find it in the Decorative buy section under pictures (if you install it correctly.) It's a painting. It will have an asterisk in the bottom corner of the picture in the buy catalog. The painting looks like what Merola says it looks like! Buy it and hang it in your sim's house.

The painting does lots of interesting things for sims in your game when you click on one end or the other or in the middle. It's far, far better than the boolprop cheat. And safer.

People here at Worldsims are very good people who are trying to help you. Even if you don't understand why, pay attention to what they say anyway, and say 'Thank you.'

The only cheat ive ever used is to get money, when I feel like a challenging game I will not use any cheats because I dont see the point. But when im mucking around I sometimes use cheats, if i need to. For example; one time I built an experiment where I built identical rooms and locked all the sims in to see their reactions. I tryed lots of stuff with them, it was a laugh and I needed to use the money cheat to fund it all.

I believe that the thing about the Boolprop Cheat is that if something goes wrong, you can't just not save the game - you're entire game (neighborhoods and all!) could get hosed, and you would have to completely uninstall The Sims 2 (plus any expansion packs) and then reinstall, thus losing any sims and neighborhoods you had.

This why I have never messed with boolprop...Take Lynet's advice and download Merola's Painting. It does many of the things you can do in Boolprop, but without the risk of creating a BFVFS. (That's a Big Fireball Visible From Space, for those of you new to the forum.)
