I installed the Sims 2 on my laptop for my gf to play. It was working fine for the first few days, great framerate and all... only problem is that sometimes when you try to exit a house and go to the neighborhood i get a BSOD. not that big a deal I guess... anyway, she decided to change her sim's hair, and now when that family is loaded up, the game lags down to less than 1fps... sucks, impossible to play. But when you pause the clock, the framerate shoots up again and everything runs smooth. start the clock again and everything slows to a crawl again. If you load any other familly the game runs fine. I tried to change the hairstyle back to see if somehow that was screwing the game up somehow and it seemed to help, but just slightly. Still unplayable. also, if you try to save that family it just locks up and sits there with the "saving" screen up forever.

Any insight into whats up? I realize that I could just try making a new family or something but... really i'd like to fix this family so i don't have to re-make the house and everything.

If anyone can tell me what the problem is.. lemme know.

Oh, also, every other 3d game works just fine, so it's not the video card...

Any chance we can see some specs to the laptop? :)
