problem with sims 2

i got the sims 2 like a week ago, and it doesnt work good at all. i have all the requirements, but the graphics are all messed up. someone had a similar problem to me on this site, so they said something about updating drivers. i tried that, and the game only works faster. its like the texture or something like that. someone let me know if you know how to fix it. thanks.

sorry, i forgot to post that. here's the info on my computer:

processor: x86 Family 15 model 2 stepping 9 GenuineIntel -2,492 MHz
system memory: 60 GB
windows version: XP
graphic card/video card: Intel extreme graphics 82845
memory: i have plenty.

the problem is the first post. let me know if you can help or if i do need more info.
