Frank Crummitt was an American who, probably 50 years ago, sang songs like An Insurance Man. Does anyone remember him? If so have you any idea where I might find the words to a couple of songs that he used to sing. They weren't so quite so much songs as poems in the modern sense.
I do remember him, but you would know that, wouldn't you?

I remember Frank Crummitt from old 78's my grandparents had. I obtained copies of Frank Crummitt singing three separate versions of Abdul Abulbul Amir. There was Abdul Abulbul Amir, then there was the return of and finally there was what I suspect was their version of a spoof: The Grandson of Abdul etc. (It has references to golf but is still sung by Frank Crummitt) I have all these recordings, taken from the original 78 records.

I am particularly interested in his recording of: "Down in de Cane Break." That was another of my grandparent's 78's and it, like the others was lost in time. I have been able to find the words to the song - but not the music. If you can help, I'd be very grateful.

Contact me on [removed email] I will return all e-mails.
