Sorry about that, it was not the forum at fault , we had this in the past and it is down to tripod as far as I/we can make out at this stage.
The Forum is hosted on a different server/host to the main site.

I think it is more server related than phpBB related Luke.

yes it is down to tripod, besides one little thing.
One does try to log into the forum, one gets taken to tripod homepage. one hits back on browser with that one is back at log in and from there it is just a case of going where we want .
The same with the log out it takes us to tripod homepage. Any ideas why? :confused:

i think i solved it *grin*

I'f i'm correct in saying that

a) forums are on another server
b) site is hosted on tripod

Then as tripod is running php in safe mode, on localhost can be used to connect to the mysql database so;

If the forums are hosted on tripod they can't connect to external mysql servers

If the forums are not hosted on tripos but are using the tripod mysql servers, then that willl also be denied.

I tested phpbb and it works fine with tripod. Just make sure the mysql_connect in your config.php is correct according to the mysql server address
