hi, i'm new here, but not new to the world of the sims. i've read through most of the threads involving similar problems, bu i can't seem to find anyone experiencing the same problem i am. :cry:
in any case, i'll lay it out for you and maybe someone can help me. it will be greatly appreciated.
i've successfully installed and uninstalled 2nd generation sims games off and on multiple computers since the sims 2 base game first game out. currently, i have all the expansion packs installed on my home computer, but i've been having some trouble with my sister's computer. at one time, she had the base game and 'family fun stuff' both running smoothly, but she asked to have my other available expansion packs added to her computer as well. unfortunately, although they're all working just fine on my computer, i experience the same problem when i'm trying to install every single expansion pack with TWO disks.
- our base game is 'the sims 2 DVD edition' [american release]
- the 'sims 2 open for business' installs fine, as it only has ONE disk [american release]
- the following expansion packs [all american releases and TWO disk expansion packs] install fine, until i insert the second disk. then installation freezes at 68%. no error message occurs...it's just that nothing else happens either.
i realize, considering it's not a problem with just one expansion pack, but all TWO disk expansion packs, that there must be something wrong with the computer. however, i'm not really technologically inclined, so can someone who is be of assistance?
the computer is a DELL inspiron B120, and i can provide you with any information needed, i just might need some help locating it. :p
