Help! Error: "The Sims 2 Requires At Least 1MB of Free Disk Space"

I am quite computer literate, and can access extremely easily and now that at the moment, I have 146 MB free on my disk. Yet, when I start the Sims 2, it comes up with that message every time and tells me to free up disk space. If somebody could please help me, that would be great.

If you are computer literate why have you opened two threads, one here and one in the Mac forum? It is very confusing for us geeks to help you if you won't help yourself.

Because I, being a regular forum-goer, know very well that on forums, certain sections are read more than others. I posted it in the Mac Section first because it seems to be a Mac-related issue, then realized it would likely be read more in a general section, so I posted it there, and just left it in both so that the chances of somebody seeing it and helping me were greater. Why you couldn't just give me the help I asked for rather than just show no respect is beyond me, but I will take my question elsewhere.
