downloads

ok could somebody please help me on the whole downloads thing i have no idea what to do. somebody told me that i just needed to save them to the downloads folder in the EA games/sims 2/downloads and if i didnt have that folder to create it and i did and saved the files to that folder and i tried unzipping them and it didnt work please help me i really wanna download loads of cool stuff and i can't

The folder needs to start with a capital D
and it's not supposed to be in the Install folder of Sims 2 but inside "My Documents" so the complete path should read something like
My Documents/EA games/SIMS 2/Downloads
And yes, ZIP and RAR files need to be unpacked, Sims2packages need to be installed, so that all what's in your download folder are just .package files.

Take a look at the FAQs, krazzy. There's a totally awesome, illustrated downloads tutorial there with all the answers to well, everything. thanks ill try that but what do you mean by sims2packages?

sims2packages are packages which can contain multiple items (you'll come across that format if you download lots(with furniture, appliences/landscapng etc) or complete sims (incl. clothes makeup etc.)...you get the drift.
These packages don't belong into the download folder but need to be extracted first. if you have one...just doubleclick it which triggers the extracting process

I have sims 2 university and nightlife..
I've done all the things that's been said how to download objects,skin ect... but I still can't find all my downloads.. grrr.. i've even download The CEP package which you put in the Downloads folder and the TSData/Res/Sims3D.. What should I do.. HELP!!!! I wanna download objects... :confused: :cry: :mad:

oh my gosh... i found out what the problem is at last... I look it out on sims wikia.. anyway, in the settings of the sims 2 you have to enable the content package or something like that in the game and restart.. it works now..:D :rolleyes:
