Anyone able to make a car lot business?

After making many restaurants, bakeries, cafes, flower shops, ect. I thought a car lot would be different and fun! I built the lot and then used the move object cheat to put the cars on the lot. But they don’t stay there, they disappear and plus it says that I can’t sell cars! Is there anyway around this? Maybe some cheat I don’t know of? Help?

Hi I have a car lot in the housebrag thread.:)
Maybe it will give you a hint of what to do.
You have to have OFB and NightLife. And you need rotating car platforms, and a cash register. And they put the cars they buy in a shopping bag :eek:

Where did you get a rotating car platform? Did you download it? Does it come in an expansion pack?

The Car platform is in the expansion pack "Open for Buisness" along with most of the cars. (I think you got an extra car for pre-ordering). You will therefore be able to sell cars placed on the plaforms like any other kind of product.

hmm..I don't remember seeing that. And I have OFB.

I think that you can only see the platform when in the business catalog screen (where everything is yellow, if I remember correctly.)

What I don't quite get is that I made a parking lot full of cars in order to take pictures for a story and people were buying the cars. I started out only with a ticketron thingy because I wanted my sim to "own" the parking lot. The customers were putting the cars in bags and looking for the cash register, so I put in a cash register, and my parking lot turned into an empty lot.

I had to take the pictures for my story before the stupid cars were all bought up. :rolleyes: I didn't have that car platform anywhere on the lot.
