Philippe has recently posted a new blog asking two questions of the Cities Unlimited Community:

--How would you like us (Monte Cristo) to communicate with you? How could we make sure we reach, all together, our objectives?

--You all are part of the community and members of one of the existing community websites: how would you like us to partner with them?

For more information, check out Philippe's blog at http://www.will2real.com/?p=50#comment-441. And don't forget, reply to his blog and let him know what you think! :D And when you let him know what you think...... don't forget to let us know too. ;)

Make your voices heard!
-John

This would be my ideas. Most of these would come to play as the game becomes more developed and polished:

a) Fansite Leader emails: Basically a sort of journal or development update to the leaders to redistribute out to the community. Attach screenshots, videos, etc. of whatever is needed.

b) Maintaining a presence within the community and sites itself. Don't be hiding behind the desk always. Be out there and show yourself. Allow people to know the people behind Monte Cristo :p

c) Constant communications between the Internet Director and respective webmasters. As there will be wants and needs to be addressed, we always need to know where to "go to" for information :).

d) Always getting feedback from the community on how to improve. There is always something to improve.

e) fansite leaders, and having allowing some sites to become key anchor sites. There will always be fansites coming and going, but there will always be ones who will remain loyal. Loyalty is hard to come by in Generation Y and if you can successfully capture it, you got yourself a winner. Alienating your loyal fansites now may not impact you now, but will come back to bite you REALLY hard later.

f) maybe when the game is finish, allowing people to visit Monte Cristo to take a look at the finished "Cities Unlimited?" Q&A, etc. :)

Note I'm stealing a lot of ideas from The Sims 2 side of things, and thoughts I've had over the years on where EA's really slacked off and dropped the ball and where they've successfully marketed their products.
