This is a Fan Fiction/Art Forum, not necessarily a sims forum :) Besides I was thinking of getting a license to publish his work through a digital format :)

I'm a big fan of lighthouses, therefore a big fan of Thomas Kinkade. I have a background/screensaver CD thing of his work. It's pretty neat. I also have these lighthouse statue things of his that Avon made (my mom loves Avon stuff).

Hehehe, I just love his San Francisco. I have a few paintings (which I converted into Sim Paintings)

I made a few of his paintings into paintings for The Sims (using the Art Studio...because I didn't know how to make them any other way at the time). For some reason, however, after I installed Hot Date and Vacation a black line appeared around them...so I decided not to release them on my site (plus the legal stuff...I don't want to get in trouble).

I like Kinkade's art but a similar artist I REALLY love is Windberg. I like lots of detail. :) Then there is fantasy art, Boris etc. I like the old pulp fiction sci-fi fantasy art of an artist named Virgil Finlay, he did lots of stippling and line work, my mom has books of his art. Oh, and I like Olivia are (pin ups) and I can't remember the name of the guy but he does art similar to Olivia but he does lots of robots. (with CURVES!! ;) ;) )

My paintings came out fine James. However I didn't get approval for distribution of his work in electronic form so I also couldn't release it.

Grrr someone got Thomas Kinkade's work and posted it at TSR! And I know it has got to be illegal since there are copyrights involved.

I have just had a look at the pictures. They are great. My only trouble with such things is that I am colour blind and have little (if any?) sense of perspective. Otherwise I would have made a very good artist.

Oh No Phillip! The colors makes all the difference to Kinkades paintings! :o

15% of men are red/green deficient. It is, I am reliably informed (by my wife) a gene related defect which is given by women to men, but women do not suffer from it. My grandson is also red/green deficient, but he plays the Saxophone and Clarinet so he is not too worried about it. The gene apparently falls within the same group as haemophilia. My art teacher didn't speak to me in the four years I was at school and in his class, which, I now realise, is quite understandable.
I have had to give up one or two computer games because of it.
Games manufacturers will insist upon making their main difference a matter of a red/green difference. Alpha Centauri (I think I remember rightly) gave you the opportunity to alter the colours they used, but most do not allow such an option.
I don't suppose that Sim City 4 does allow any such option, does it? After all the ratio will be similar in the U.S.A. It isn't just a British thing.

I think if the second post that gets cut off could be moved or deleted that would be good. :) I didn't know the red/green color trouble was inherited through the mother. My husband is an artist and, when he's taking classes, an art major, and HE has troubles with reds and greens when it comes to hues or tones with a lot of grey in them! Maybe more games will start putting color change options so players with the red/green trouble will be able to enjoy them too! At least with the sims and the red/green emote bars there is the thing in the middle where your sim is generally ok if the levels are ABOVE the middle, and not doing so well when it's BELOW the middle! :classic: :bunny:

My fingers are quicker than my brain, and a great deal quicker than the computer. Sorry. I actually pressed the button three times, but it was only the last one that I was able to stop.
I really can type - but the Royal Air Force taught me how to do that.

oh dear!! Watch those quick fingers typing or you'll overload a slower computer!! :p I learned to touch type on actual typewriters, from an old book teaching secretarial skills that my mom had. I've gotten MUCH faster since I started chatting and instant messaging!

Imagine how long it takes for Mr. Kinkade to do his paintings and develope his style....

How long has Kinkade been painting? I don't really know a lot about him, but I do have a tin with one of his paintings on it. :)

I really love to beat the computer. On my old computer (A PII - 300 MHz) I used to be able to get about a line and a half ahead and then I had to wait for it to catch up. It isn't quite so good now (a 1.4 GHz Athlon), but, on occasion, I can still do it.
I can spell much better by touch typing than my thinking about it. (ie English spelling - not American).
Computers are very much better to type on than the old fashioned manual or even the electric machines.

haha I used to TRY to type on the old manual machine my dad had!! I ended up having to stab at it with a Pencil to be able to get much done on it! :p
...I WANT your 1.4ghz Athlon!! aaaaahhh!! ;) My poor Pentium II is only 300mhz... I NEED the next computer we get to be ghz! :bunny:
