I'm just sort of curious here as Monte Cristo's first city builder title was "City Life" and it put Monte Cristo on the map for many SimCity fans.
So now that City Life has been out for quite sometime now, has it met expectations? Did it live up to the hype? Was what it presented on all the previews and reviews live up to City Life's actual gameplay?
Post away :)

It had beautiful water - I wish they could get water effects like that in The Sims 2! - but there was something so hollow about the streets and city itself. Too much repetition of buildings, yes, and the people all drifted like Zombies. Tell you the truth I found it creepy.
I am mainly interested in building. Even in The Sims I mainly just build their homes. I am not really interested in what the social groups care about or what they think of each other as long as I can design a well-functioning home or city (depending on what game I am playing).
If only there was a game where you could design the individual homes and people like with The Sims - and *also* the neighbourhood/city had to be designed support their journeys too and from work etc. I'd love it in The Sims if the car pool was late sometimes due to not having built good enough roads. But The Sims doesn't allow road building at all. While SimCity didn't allow home and avatar design at all. I wouldn't mind even if we had to swap modes to acheive it. I wouldn't necessarily expect to do road design while playing a family.
