Flight

I was just wonering if you will able to evolve your creature to have wings and fly around insted of walking. Over half of the animals on earth can fly and it was a very important stage in evolution. The screenshots show an artificial flying machine, but all of the creatures seem to be sea or land based. Does anybody know?

You can add wings in any stage.

If you look at some of the pictures of the creature editor, you can see a button that looks suspiciously like a wing. Beyond that, I believe I read somewhere that said there will be flying creatures.

But then who can be sure of anything at this point?

Yay!! This is going to be a great game. :smile: I think at a certain stage you can add wings. Not sure though. :confused: Not much info has be said about the game. :banghead:

In the Spore 36 min Demo, a tripod walked on land and in the background I spotted a creature in the air flapping its wings and then gliding. :bouncy:

Yeah, flying creatures was confirmed, but the cities will still be land based.

I bet the Wing Parts will be in the Limb(Arms and Legs)category or they might put an actual wing icon in the Creature Editor to put th wings on the creatures back.

Right, there's no doubt in my mind that the creature can have wings. The thing here though, is whether or not a flying creature is possible to make.

Flying by flapping is very tiring....and probably you'd have to evolve for a long time before you can actually fly..so you wouldn't just BOOM! create a fly creature, you'd have to earn it.

Another thing to consider... if you had creatures who can fly effortlessly at later stages in the game, ...why make flying vehicles?

Just a random thought.


Actually... forget that. We can walk on land, but we make land vehicles.

You'd have to land to eat and reproduce. birds do.
And there could be bigger flying creatures to attack you in the air or if you had a nest in a tree.

they could decide to keep flying creatures for an expansion pack. I wouldn't argue with that as long as they'd have the expansion early after the release like with the sims 2 and university. and as long there's a load of new creature parts to play with :)
