Yeah, it starts to be furstrating after a while, but we have to keep in mind that the game is so far away, and Maxis is holding the goodies to get a strong peak before the game comes out.

tbh, i think ill probably take a break from following the game ultra closely, ill return to these boards 6 months from now and see if i remember anyone (or anyone remembers me).

I don't know who maxoid is. If you write a letter to Maddox though then you should probably use "ive only slept with one guy im not kidding" as the subject title.

The next piece of news will be the product name for Spore, or they'll announce that Spore will be the product name. Then we'll see the official IRC channel go up, and most likely be treated to a developer chat. How much do you want to bet the next piece of news we get is the official statement with the name for Spore?

I think it makes sense that spore would be the name of the game, considering they registered the domain spore.ea.com. Also, with all the popularity behind the name it would, in my opinion, make sense to just say 'screw it' and keep the name.

Somewhere in the Other Sites forum is an IRC channel. But we'd all much rather have an OFFICIAL channel.

From what I've seen concerning the evolution of games, the end product will probably look more or less identical to how it looks now. Perhaps a couple extra bells and whistles, or maybe a slightly different interface; however, the general look of the game is most certainly already complete.

I do wish, though, that they make the destruction of units and buildings a little more impressive than a simple large explosion/puffcloud wherein the building simply disappears.

It's a simulation of the entire history of mankind cut and pasted onto the history of a fictional creature, so... I'd say there will be a bit of melee possible, but I have a feeling it will be almost all ranged combat. Guns win over swords and sharpened sticks. It's a sad truth of life.
