Speculations about the release date

I know that dates have been mentioned in some places, but i'd like us to gather our info (and thoughts) together and see where is this going :).


Hmmm, so i think it will be released in the 4th quarter of 2006, very strategic and typical for EA, since people will have the ability to buy it even if it's gonna cost alot (Christmas).

And i don't think that a precise release date should take that much to be announced, i'd say that we'll reicive it on March 2006..

exacter, oops, that was my german slipping in. Also I think the quartals are divided up every 3 months. 1st quartal jan, feb, mar ; 2nd quartal apr, may, jun ; 3rd quartal jul, aug, sep and 4th quartal would be oct, nov, dec. So around October - December 2006 is my guess :D

I feel second half of '06, though I'm still wondering if it won't be released sooner. I doubt very much that this game will be delayed since it sounds like Will Wright has been working on it forever.

If it's released in March of '06, I will be very, very surprised.

Oh, I see. Still, we can always -hope- it comes out in march, eh?

With luck we will be getting new information on Spore by October or November. So yeah... March '06 is a good estimate for when we'll know more.

Has there been hints by EA/Maxis about the release date, or is it all just a Gamespy estimate (they're very rarely correct with their estimates)?

Gaming Steve asked Will Wright when we could expect the game, and if it would be out for holiday season this year, and Will Wright replied rather flatly, "Fall. Fall of '06."

He said that during E3, I believe.

Remember people that Maxis are yet to release their Sims 2 Expansion Packs. If all goes to plan, then they will release another in March/April, then another In September/October. So any time within those I think :bouncy:

I really think that it will most likely be pushed back, even though the video was stream lined, because thats what happens to good games,(sighs). (Trying not to Jinx it) Knock on wood if you think it will be relased early "knock,Knock" :sporerules:

Hopefully it will be released before Summer, but I am guessing it will be released around October 2006.

Does anyone know if Spore will be released in the US and Europe simultaneously? Or will it hit the shelves in the US first, since it's America-based?

Heh, serves the Euro countries right for not releasing their games simultaneously for us, if it is a delayed release. I've been waiting for The Fall to get imported from Germany for almost 2 years now, and while we're -hoping- on a release sometime next year Germany is already getting geared up for the sequel. Pitiful.

In all reality I hope you don't have to wait. I'm just miffed we have to wait for so many European games. I'm pretty certain they'd be released simultaneously, the Sims games were weren't they?

I think it'll come out in 2007 at the earliest. If it comes out next year I'll probably be really surprised.
