I think we talked about that somewhere.. I can't remember where, though...

but in Will Wrights movie, some tripods were bigger than others, BUT that could be just age difference..

we don't know :shy:

As of right now, the chances of gender differences are slim. From all the information that we have been given (which admittedly isn't much), gender variation has not popped up anywhere. That doesn't mean it isn't there, or that it won't be added in later, it just means the chances are greater that males and females will look the same.

There will be some variation, however. Size difference has been shown, for instance, and clothing will possibly vary somewhat as well. Everything else... well, there simply isn't very much information on the subject.

Wait, go back to the video I think the female had curly eyelashes!

Or I could be seeing things.

I actually heard/read that being mentioned somewhere...not sure though.

I don't think so, If it gets too graphic the rating will get to M or maybe even AO and they probably realize that it won't sell too well if that happens.

Then again, I could sorta see eyelashes and maybe shape or color happening.

I don't think the mating will cause any problems. There's plenty of animal sex on TV, and those shows never get mature ratings... also, there isn't really all that much 'humpage'. All they did in the movie was nuzzle each other and make sexy sounds in their alien language.

I guess you're right, I watch a lot of Animal Planet, I'd know...

According to Gaming Steve and what he saw, he actually didn't see significant diffrrencies between males and females, he talks about difference in the clothes perhaps.

i think there is different sexes, because Maxis aren't that stupid to do two males mating then creating an egg.... not sure if you get what i mean, but i do.

So their needs to be differentiation between so it doesn't look like a specific gender is doing something?

That doesn't make any sense

If there is no gender differentiation, then there can be no two "males" doing something, because there is no visible "male"

Maybe the female has a lighter tone in its voice or it might be colour

If there are any differences they'll probably be small, like the eyelash thing. But I bet there'll be... maybe a little menu? When you click on another creature, showing whether it's male or female.

Well...did you see the mating sequence? Basically they just rubbed behinds or whatever. I think they'll be hermaphroditic..but only one will carry the eggs/babies/w.e, but both will guard the nest. But...maybe when you enter the creature phase or choose which creature you play as in the litter you can choose to be female or male..but that's just speculation.

that's a fantastic question! do you think users will have to create both male and female? surely it's not already going to change it for you..

but what I think is that you create a creature, and it's your creature and it randomizes whether it's male or female at birth. But they both look the same, with similar characteristics(sp?).

Mmm, if you had to make both male and female, then the differences between the two might be too great. I bet you'll be able to say whether you're making a male or female, and the computer will resize and maybe lighten the creature.

Lets face it, you probably won't know its gender until its had sex

InvaderBlack

No, I think there'll be some indication. They wouldn't want you running around trying to make babies with every guy in the herd, if you're a guy.

Oh Science, please let us create both Male and Female. Because that would help me when I play the evolution of man. Or in this case. Sims. Evolution of Sims. Oh Science Help Us!
