Hey, so I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty basic in the computer department. I should be able to work everything out, but do try to keep it simple ^_^ please. sorry I'm lame :P
Anyway, I got the Sims 2 when it first came out. The first time I installed it everything went fine until I got to the neighborhood menu. When I clicked on the neighborhood, the screen became all pixel-ized and seemed to be a merge between the neighborhood story screen and the neighborhood itself. I figured it was a problem on the disc so I returned it and got a new one. The new discs had the same problem. I've checked my graphics configuration and they all check out fine. Since then I'll randomly try to load it to no avail-the same problem.
When I reach that screen I can make out the corner panel, so I'll try to go to another screen, such as make a family, the loading screen works fine, but when I reach the actual make a family screen it has the same blurred, pixelized problem as before. The screens become meshed and flicker between the two-though not coherently enough to actually figure out what the screen looks like. The more I switch options, of course, the more jarbled the screen gets. Loading screens and the main menu are fine. Tutorial is jumbled as well though.
Originally I thought it might be a problem in the installation process, but I've gone through that many times.
Like I said, I'm no techno-wiz, but I'm better than your average guy (or gal!). If it matters I have an XP and some high-graphics addition, dunno what it is though. haha. I can always figure out any details you may need to know.
I would really appreciate any suggestions!!!!
