Urgent Assistance needed

My computer automatically restarts itself at anytime and without warning when i play any of the sims 2 games.

I have taken my computer to the repair shop because i thought it might be that something is outdated but i got told that nothing is wrong with my computer but the problem keeps happening, i ave been to the XP site for patches but they have not worked i have tried my sims games on friends computers in case it was the disks, i had no problems on my friends computers. I don't have any downloads or custom objects, tried them once before but they didn't exactly gel with my computer.

Sims 2 Deluxe ( Nightlife and Base pack), Uni, OFB, Bon Voyage, Pets (only base and OFB are loaded at the moment due to problems with an expansion pack)has anyone had the same problem or does someone have any ideas on what it could be??

It sure looks like a driver problem to me..only the trick now is to find out the one responsible.
First of all, you need to disable the option that your computer automatically reboots on error (under System Properties/Advanced/Startup and Recovery uncheck the "automatically restart" option under System failure)
That way you should get next time a so called BSOD (blue screen of Death :D)
with a lot of useless info plus some Error number and perhaps a reference to some driver that caused the crash.
If you post that Info here, we can go from there.

my computer is still shutting itself down i have upgraded the drivers and that helped for 1 day and now it either shuts down or goes to blue screen it never crashes in the same place last time i tried to play it shut down during the intro. i have downloaded patches but they have made no difference to the problem.
