Ok, the first few expansions my PC seemed to run fine, but since Seasons and Bon Voyage, I seem to get an annoying little error after about 10 -20 minutes of game play.

So, im playing quite happily until the screen goes blue. Abit like a loading screen with the little egg timer. I then wait about 30 seconds and the game comes back on, and the game is running fine, except my sims have little lines going through them! when I zoom the camera in and out, these lines reappear and disappear. It only affects the sim and any object the sim is touching, ie. a chair, or couch, etc.

I have the following installed: The Sims 2 (4 CD), University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, as well as the following stuff packs: Family Fun, Glamour Life, Festive Holiday Stuff, H&M Fashion Stuff, Teen Style stuff, and I am soon to receive Celebration Stuff.

My specs are as follows:-

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2ghz
Memory: 1022MB RAM
Windows Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)
Page file: 433MB used, 2026MB available
Directx Version: Directx 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS
Main Driver: nv4_disp.dll
VersionL 6.14.0011.6375 (English)
Date: 4/10/2007 17:14:00
Approx total video memory: 512.0MB

This PC was built by my boyfriend 1 year ago. He also built the EXACT same PC for his aunt, who is also a Sim fanatic, and is reportedly having the same problem :-(

Any help or advice would be appreciated, Many thanks!

All modern games (esp. Sims) draw highly on the video card (nah Doh! ;)
That the problem occurs in a time pattern indicates that it could very well be a thermal problem.
So have you b/f check (and probably clean) the fan on your video card (and since he's at it, clean out the CPU fan as well :D)
It's possible that after a year it collected enough dust to not fully function anymore.
