So this specific 'laptop' i have been eyeing for a while to upgrade off my current 2 year old 'take a lickin' but keeps on tickin' laptop. My friend recently picked up 'The Beast' Asus G1S and it just further proves that Asus=Quality so I figured rather than stick with dell, make the move to Asus for my next machine and the tablet aspect caught my eye considering how many things I work on regularly that would make great use of the mode.

================

Surely this'll be enough of a powerhouse for TS2/Spore. ;) And I can only drool at the thought of what simming with a touchscreen would be like. :D

Asus isn't really a nobody in the laptop industry. They've been around a LOT longer than it appears, but they've been making laptops for some of the bigger guys for quite sometime now.

As for having tablet functions, I'm not completely sold on it yet. It's a great toy, and fun to play around with, but for the most part, it's not completely functional. I've used it before and it's pretty fun to use, and nifty at times, but for the most part, couldn't do much.

It's great addition to have on your notebook though :D.

Oh. Not doubting it's a novelty. The only real reason it caught my eye is the large number of times I've had to do photoshop work and cursed not having a wacom to work with. That on top of the fact that it would probably end up becoming my primary school machine in the upcoming year or so, it'd probably also make a good note-taking option. Primary reason why I ogle over the convertible aspect. No way in he** I'd go without an old fashioned keyboard. >> And just the overall power is a plus.

Oh. And no doubt Asus is a **** fine company. Been watching them before and my friends been saying the same things about them. But after seeing the build quality of his G1s, I'm completely sold. It's literally like comparing to a dell being akin to comparing a BMW to a Ford Fusion. The Fusion is a **** fine car. But if you have the money for a BMW, you surely aren't going to be regretting the purchase.
