Recently I contracted a computer virus and my complete system was wiped out...I lost all of my files..anyway to make a long story short..I have everything from The Sims to Superstar and I have been trying to reinstall everything...I am having a lot of problems. I was able to reinstall everything except Living Large...I bought Deluxe Edition for that problem but I really had no luck in installing it so I returned it. I skipped over trying to install living Large but I have installed everything through Vacation and I cannot get any further. When I try to install Unleased I get all the way through to the 2nd disc and then I get some sort of transfer error and crashed. When I try to play Vacation from that point it cannot be located on the system.. Then I try to reinstall Vacation and it says The Sims not found. Sooo then I reinstall The Sims, Vacation and I am deadlocked..Also I don't have all 8 pages only 1, 6,7, and 8..I know these are a lot of issues but I am at a loss..I am not very computer savey but I can follow instructions. Pleeeese Help. Also can somebody tell me where I can go to find The Sims Zip installer file again? I also lost it when my files were wiped out?

Hi Stepenezy

Not too long ago when I purchased and installed Superstar I had problems playing on the hotdate screen. Maxis suggested that I uninstall everything and reinstall from scratch beginning with TheSims and installing everything in the order that it was released.
But first. after I uninstalled, I had to download the SimEraser program from Thesims.com in order to delete any left over registry files that could be corrupt.
After I ran SimEraser, I installed TheSims, LivinLarge, HouseParty, Hotdate, Vacation, Unleashed and then Superstar.
Since I've reinstalled everything, I have had no further difficulties. I believe that the SimEraser program deleted all sim related files from my computer in order to give me complete and proper installation.
Although I lost all of the things that I had collected over the years it was worth it in order to get proper installation.
I am not sure if uninstalling everything and running SimEraser will help you, but its the only thing that I could think of.

Hope you get your problem solved.
Sincerely,
Amy Sims

Oh dear, I take it this means it's STILL not working! :( The only general stuff I know of at this point is try to make sure your computer overall is doing ok, like defragment and scan the hard drives to make sure that's set up ok. I hope someone can figure out some way to help you!
