Ok found the official rules so im updating this reply:

Theres no official number of posts that you have had to post in order to be a moderator, that i know off. Who becomes a moderator is up to the Forum Owners.

Following these rules are essential though:

Hey Johno, thanks for your intrested in becomming a moderator here. Just help out here a lot when people have questions and should these forums become very croweded with lots of posts, we'll get more moderators to help monitor the forums.

OH forgot to mention don't bother asking to become. I'd just ignore the requests and skip the person the next time we need a moderator
