I first like to holler at Spores Illustrated (http://spore.strategyplanet.gamespy.com/) for finding this information.
Spore Creatures now has an ESRB (http://www.esrb.org/index-js.jsp) rating of Everyone 10+. Titles rated E10+ (Everyone 10 and older) have content that may be suitable for ages 10 and older. Titles in this category may contain more cartoon, fantasy or mild violence, mild language and/or minimal suggestive themes.
Gamespy (http://ds.gamespy.com/nintendo-ds/spore/854491p1.html) has a small preview for Spore Creatures. Here’s an bit from their article on how the controls will work:
Your creature is controlled by either the d-pad or a Phantom Hourglass-style touch interface. There’s some crossover with either control system, but we really like having the option to use the touch screen or the d-pad, just on principle.
And here is a video of the game in action!
