Livin-It-Up.net (http://www.livin-it-up.net) August 30, 2003

This month Livin-It-Up.net celebrates it's second anniversary. The staff has put together a spectacular update to honor this event. We'd like to say thanks to each of you for your patronage of our site, giving us dual cause for celebration. We started recording statistics in October of 2002 and have recently broken the 1,000,000 visitor mark.

In addition we're proud to announce a couple new awards since our last update. For the third time, the folks over at alt.games.the-sims usenet newsgroup have awarded us their "Great Site" award. We were also awarded "Best Casual Skins" by Wall To Wall Sims (http://walltowallsims.proboards22.com/index.cgi) forum. Thank you all for your support!

Ok, on to the good stuff....

In our update you'll find three new houses. The first to mention is built in honor of our anniversary by Libby of our affiliate site Flotsim&Jetsim (http://www.ad-libster.com/) who's also graciously provided us with an article on the history of Livin-It-Up as well as, for this update only, a special plant package available separately with the house. Thank you Libby! Next we'd like to introduce the newest staff member of Livin-It-Up, Sweetheart, who provides two great new homes of her own. Welcome Sweetheart, can't wait to see more.

Perfect for finishing any of these fine homes, we've got nine sets this update. For the outside we start with two great roofing sets by Slim. Adobe or traditional style roofs for single story homes. Bluegenie2 brings us a great patio set in blue and white. Moving on to the interior, we start with a modern kitchen in black and white by Ohmikeghod. Cravze brings us a cozy little living room set in deep blue and chrome as well as a large bedroom set in beige and black complete with working one tile closet. Bluejeans brings us a gorgeous bath set in wood and pastels. Finally, two more sets from Bluegenie2, a kitchen and a bathroom, both in beige.

A great new theme by Bluegenie2 begins with 28 new pieces this week. A gallows with hanging skeleton, a cannon and a variety of other weapons as well as several great decorative and functional pieces round out the "Piracy" theme.

Great new skins for the whole family, even the kiddies, by Drewster and Lachelle. Lovely female heads complete with a variety of stylish new meshes by Lachelle.

Continuing the construction theme objects, a Crane by Ohmikeghod. Drewster brings us 3 new park benches complete with the Livin-It-Up.net logo as well as a column to match the traditional roof set. Pendragon baked us a cake, well, sort of. A new NPC genie for our hacked section by Cravze, skinned with "The Blue Genie" by of course Bluegenie2. Ten rugs as well as wall sculptures of three griffins and a horse by Ohmikeghod. Two bright new potted plants by Pegalu. Several decorative clocks and lamps by Bluegenie2. Finally, we have walls and floors by Bluegenie2 and Cravze.

As if we don't already have quite enough cause for excitement this update. Our affiliate site, Mermaid Cove (http://www.mercosims.com/) joins with us in celebrating not only our two year anniversary, but it's own. Adding their touch to the party with a great aquarium in matching blue and chrome to the living room set featured in this update.

WOW!! 20 Pages of update, over 150 new objects including 9 sets, skins, walls, floors, and houses. To the staff and affiliates, I salute you! To quote a recent user mail, "......Thanks for everything, you wicked mother******s ROCK!!!".

Wow congratulations on your anniversary! As soon as I clear up some more ROOM on my computer I'll come visit and get some of your stuff! ;)

Hmm... clearing up room on your hard drive goes against the evil plan (see my .sig). I suppose that you'll need another session with the mind control lasers, FaeLuna. ...and don't think that an aluminum foil propellor beanie will help thwart them!

The mind control lasers? Is that the pretty lightshow I keep watching? :p ;)

I think it must be, Fae. That's why I keep downloading furniture when I can't get my game to work.

I dread the advent of Sims 2. I have so much energy and time invested in the current game, and Maxis hasn't published anything on the tools that will be needed to create stuff for the release. If they don't allow third-party objects, it will acquire a worse rep than TSO - and Maxis will have another failure on their hands. We are less than 6 months from the release date, snd nothing has been said by them about add-ons.

From what I've read on the Maxis whitesheets, they will be releasing "Official Tools" to help create custom content.

I,m waiting for the release, here in europe end of oktober, of making magic. Here in holland the expansion will be called Abacadabra and in Germany Hokus Pocus btw ;)
Then in februari 2004 Sims2 (looks very promissing) and i think that will be more exciting then the making magic.

...Like their release of Edith for the original game, I suppose? I've been fed enough lies by EA to choke a horse.

I have no idea about that Mike. All I know is this time is they are supporting "user created" content.

I think they've seen how BIG the fan-base for user created content is, and I know I was thinking it might be great to have my sims 3d and do all these new things but if I couldn't customize it I wasn't sure I'd get it! I'm sure LOTS of other sims fans feel that way too and Maxis knows it... so I hope this time they WILL put out the tools for the fans to use.

I'd heard vague things about Edith before, and was sad that seemed to fall through. Hang in there and keep your fingers crossed for sims 2 now though!

hikikomori, I hadn't heard of the different names for the new magic expansion coming out, I like them! :D
