Long ago when I was still running only on The Sims 2 Deluxe and on a 1GB RAM, there were no problems at all.

I just installed the full version of The Sims 2. i.e. every single expansion pack and stuff pack. My computer used to be running on a 1GB RAM, but because The Sims was loading so slowly ever since I installed all the expansion packs, I decided to get myself a RAM Upgrade. So now, my RAM is a full 3GB. I restarted my game, lots, families and all, and things were going on fine for the first two hours, no crash, no lagging, not still images, no problems at all. However, ever since I came back from Twikki Island from a vacation, the game crashes every two minutes. The game auto-saves everytime the sims come back from a vacation. After the sims gets off the shuttle, it runs for two minutes and then it crashes and the application will be terminated.

Is there a problem with Freetime since I'm running it or is there a new patch?

1) CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz(2 CPUs)
2) RAM/Memory: 3.00GB RAM
3) Free Hard Disk Space: 147.5GB
4) Total Hard Disk Space: 288GB
5) Graphic/Video Card: Radeon X1650 Series
6) Graphic/Video Card Driver Version: 8.421.0.0
7) DirectX Version: Version 10
8) Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium(6.0, Build 6000)
9) Sims 2 CD or DVD Version: Sims 2 DVD Version(Deluxe Edition for base game)
10) Any expansion packs: All Expansion Packs
11) Any hacks/mods? Any custom objects?: Plenty. But worked fine even before I upgraded anything.
11) Nature of problem: Please refer to top.

I hope that someone would be able to help me. If not my money spent on buying the ep, sp, and RAM upgrading would be gone to waste.

Run http://memtest.org/ and have it run a memory test pattern overnight. Check back and see if it generates any error messages.

Just asilly question but what ram configuration did you use.
Ram should be installed in matched pairs and not in an odd number of ram sticks.
So if you have four slots on the motherboard. you should have used up all four slots by using 2 1Gb sticks and 2 512 mb sticks.

I couldn't run the memtest. =X

There are two RAM slots. 1GB and the other a 2GB.

Why couldn't you run the memtest?

When you run the memtest make sure you put something like a 1024 ( no higher ) in the little box.
You will have to run this in three seperate windows at the same time.
