Hey,

Hopefully someone can help me. Here is my system and problem.

OS: Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 1)
System Type: 64 bit
Processor AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core 2.30 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

My computer continually freezes at what seems to be random times while using Creature Creator although it generally always happens whenever I try to save a creature. I have successfully managed to save a couple simple creatures. I have to totally reboot my system to get out. (I cannot ctrl-alt-del or tab out)

Here is what I have tried to do to fix it.

I have uninstalled EADM.
I have run as administrator and in compatibility mode for Win XP.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled.
I have tried with graphic settings all set to low.
I have updated all my video and audio drivers.

If anyone has any more suggestions please let me know, it is driving me insane.

Could you run a memtest pattern?

Thanks for the response.

No errors from the test however.

How long did you run the test pattern?

It took about an hour to run. It seemed to be pretty comprehensive, but admittedly I do not know much about it.

It's usually recommended by myself that you run for a prolonged period like 8hrs. Sometimes errors crop up much later after prolonged tests.

But anyhow, let's see. Post up a dxdiag would you?

I will start that tonight on the way to bed then.

In the meantime, here is the DxDiag.txt file.

I ran the memory test for about 8 hours, still no errors. Any suggestions?

I'm running out of ideas. Just out of curiosity, is this system custom built?

No, here is the link to the computer I have, although I upgraded the video card to the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT.

what about shutting down the extra cores of the quad core cpu you have ?
The game may not support quad cores .
