After downloading, installing, loading up the program and entering my activation code, I receive an error stating: Game can not start.
Not found:GL:5538

How can I make the application "find" GL:5538. What IS GL:5538? :(

My computer specs are:

MacBook
Intel Core 2 Duo
GMA X3100 graphics card
1GB RAM

What else should I include?

Please help I don't know what to do.

Completely Uninstall the game and reinstall it.

To uninstall, Delete the Spore folder in the applications folder. Delete all the config files as well. Deleted the Spore Config folder located at in CurrentUser/library/Preferences/Spore Creature Creator Preferences and at then re-install from scratch

Should run fine now.

Let us know if it goes well :)

I'm guessing the lack of updates means Creature Creator works now, and you've been having too much fun to remember to let us know how it went? :D

Sadly no...It doesn't work :( The EA games people are useless I swear. I gave them my system specs. (my mac) and they gave me info on how to isolate the problem on a PC...Whatever. The reason I didn't respond was because I was out of the house today doing stuff and didn't have a chance to respond. Fortunately I'm not having any other problems; it's just the same as last time (after shredding all traces of spore and re-installing.) Just: Not found:GL:5538 Hopefully I'll come to some solution by the end of the week or so. EA is quite slow to respond so getting anything done is taking forever. I will call the Technical support line tomorrow and see if I can get anything accomplished. Thanks anyways though!!

Just making sure, you deleted Spore preferences as well?

Yes. I did a search on every spore related file, and then I put them in the trash and secure emptied the trash (shredded). At first I thought that would work though because perhaps there was a strange setting or file from the demo version that was confusing the non-trial version. For example a settings file that could not be read by the non-trial but the non-trial version could find it and thought that it was what it was supposed to be reading. Anywho. I'm going to give a ring over to tech support at 10.
