I have a really annoying problem, when I double click on spore creature creator, it pauses for about 10 seconds, and then pops up with Spore creature creator has encountered and error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvienience. I have tried sending an error port, but it never completes sending it.....
I have gone into Start Run>Eventvwr and spore was there with this meassage:

Submit it to Microsoft and see what it reports back to you :). My guess it's related to .NET.
doudou123
08-11-2008, 10:37 PM
When I click on the "Send Error Report" button, it pops up with the window and keeps saying that it is sending the error report however it never finishes after hours. How else could I submit it to microsoft? And how could i fix the .NET. thing?
ManagerJosh
08-11-2008, 10:43 PM
When you run windows update, does it give you the option to update to the latest version of .NET?
doudou123
08-11-2008, 11:30 PM
No it doesnt... After updating it still doesnt work.... Any suggestions?
ManagerJosh
08-12-2008, 12:52 AM
In the event viewer, are you able to send the data to Microsoft?
doudou123
08-12-2008, 01:29 AM
No I cant
ManagerJosh
08-12-2008, 01:41 AM
Do this:
Double click on that Error Flag, and then click the http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp link. From there, be sure to click Yes in the submission window.

Ok have done this and it gives me this box
Details
Product:Windows Operating System
ID:1000Source:Application Error
Version:5.2
Symbolic Name:ER_USERCRASH_LOG
Message:Faulting application %1, version %2, faulting module %3, version %4, fault address 0x%5.
and these three paragraphs
Explanation
The indicated program stopped unexpectedly. The message contains details on which program and module stopped. A matching event with Event ID 1001 might also appear in the event log. This matching event displays information about the specific error that occurred.
User Action
If an error report was generated for this error, you might be able to obtain more information about the error by sending the report to Microsoft for analysis.
What to expect
Microsoft actively analyzes all error reports and prioritizes them based on the number of customers affected by the error signature contained in the report. When a report is submitted, Microsoft will try to determine the cause of the error, categorize it according to the type of issue encountered, and send you relevant information when such information is available. However, because error reports do not always contain enough information to positively identify the source of the issue, Microsoft may need to collect a number of similar reports from other customers before a pattern is discovered. Although Microsoft might not be able to provide a solution for your particular error at this time, all information submitted is used to further improve the quality and reliability of our products.
Any Idea what this means?

It seems that I can send the error report now, but how do i get a report back?
ManagerJosh
08-12-2008, 02:16 PM
Odd. Creature creator just stopped midway for no reason. It is as if something just stopped it midway from running.

You don't. It's one way.
doudou123

Oh... Will Microsoft find a way to fix it? if not than what is the use of reporting it?
doudou123

Is there any other way that you can see that could fix my problem?... I SOOOOO want this game to work

doudou123
08-26-2008, 11:49 AM
What would that mean?
ManagerJosh
08-26-2008, 12:25 PM
Meaning you have a bad disc. Can you return it to swap for another disc?

This is the trial for spore creature creator, not the bought version...
I have tried reinstalling it, but no changes...

Hmm... I'm lost. Well since a patch was released, apply the patch and see if that helps any.

Ok heres the dxdiag.txt on my first computer (The one that had the problem 1st) --Dxdiag1
And the one called Dxdiag2 is on my other one that has the same problem... Maybe its because they are both running off the same DirectX is why they aren't working well...

Let's see if a set of graphic driver updates would help.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html
doudou123
08-28-2008, 11:39 AM
Ok im downloading them now.
doudou123
08-28-2008, 11:43 AM
Ok i got through the first part of the setup, but then it tells me:
The NVIDIA setup program could not find any drivers compatible with your current hardware. The setup will now exit.
Does that mean my drivers are up to date?
ManagerJosh
08-28-2008, 12:04 PM
Huh!? That's odd. It should not be doing that. Do you have a computer built by Dell or HP?
doudou123
08-28-2008, 07:42 PM
Umm none Im pretty sure its an Asus.. how would I fix this?
ManagerJosh
08-28-2008, 07:44 PM

08-28-2008, 07:51 PM

The bottom of the laptop would be a great place to start
swmeek
08-28-2008, 08:39 PM
One thing you need to know is the 6200 is a Turbocache card meaning it utilizes the memory on the motherboard that you have now. Since there's only 512 mb of ram present on the motherboard it could be the card is using too much memory for the laptop to run properly.
Basically it's stealing memory you have away from programs that should be using it instead.
Maybe if you had more memory installed in your laptop ( like a full GB of ram ) it would run a bit better.
Also you might try turning off any non-essential programs while you play and see if it helps.
Disconnect from the internet while you play and turn off your anti-virus and firewall to free up some processing power.
Windows xp really needs 512 mb of ram to run really good but it will run on 256 mb of ram (poorly I might add)
You can always create now and then go back later and upload anything you've made later when you're not creating or just upload here and avoid the Sporepedia hassle.

Its not a laptop... yea i have installed the new drivers now i just ran the installation again and it worked but still no difference, swmeeks suggestion had no effect....
Everything seems to be so problamatic
ManagerJosh
08-30-2008, 10:49 AM
Well the only other explanation I have is simply your computer is too old. I looked at your dxdiag again and it only shows you have a 1.4GHz processor. (Athlon 1400), not a 2.0GHz (2000)
doudou123
08-30-2008, 12:53 PM
Really? thats weird i could have sworn it was a 2.0Ghz. Is there anyway possible to get it to run on a 1.4? i heard that if u turn all the options down to lowest quality its specs are lower than the Sims 2, which has run before easily on my computer. But because I cant edit the options without running the game first, I can't change them. Maybe if someone turned all their options to lowest and posted up their config folder it might help, but at the moment i dont know which bits of it to change.

Probably not. You're already barely hitting the bare minimum requirements.

08-30-2008, 08:02 PM

08-31-2008, 12:16 AM
What's to prevent the Creature Creator from updating those config files? Your computer changes constantly (adding new files, maintenance, deleting files) and your computer keeps track of it.
doudou123
08-31-2008, 01:50 AM
ok but would u mind giving it a try, setting all the options to lowest and posting up te config files?

09-02-2008, 12:24 AM
ANybody willing to help?
If somebody could please follow these simple steps it would be much appreciated.
1) Open Spore creature creator trial
2) Turn all your options down to the lowest quality setting
3) Post up these files:
ConfigManager.txt
Properties.txt
Preferences.txt
VideoCards.txt
If you could do this for me it would be much appreciated.

I tried to get Spore to run on a laptop with a 945GM graphics chipset (one generation older than 965GM) and the laptop flat out rejected it.
doudou123
09-08-2008, 11:18 PM
Ok then what about the config files?
ManagerJosh
09-09-2008, 07:15 AM
Unfortunately I can't give you the files since the ones I'm using are for Spore and not Spore Creature Creator. Even if I had Spore Creature Creator, the ones I have are the retail version and not the demo. Sorry.
If someone wants to upload them, feel free to.
doudou123
09-10-2008, 02:00 AM
Yeah does anybody feel like they could do this for me?
Please?
PS in the mean time could you do this with the retail version, because i just bought it off eBay(Creature creator) and should be recieving in a few days.

09-14-2008, 05:09 PM
Just so you know that this will only work with someone who has not installed Spore yet.
Seeings how the majority of us here have done so it will hard for you to find someone who has not done so yet.
For those of us who have installed the game means we would have to uninstall Spore and then reinstall SCC , gather the info you need and then reinstall Spore again.
In case you haven't heard we can only install Spore 3 times on our computers and then we have to beg EA to install a 4th time plus show proof of purchase.
Most people aren't going to risk losing one of our activations to do so.
I'm sorry but most us can't help you.
You might get lucky and someone who hasn't installed Spore will come along and see this and help you out.
Have you contacted Ea's support department with your problem?
doudou123
09-15-2008, 12:27 AM
Yes, they just say to close any unneeded programs, which i have done and it does not help...
