Reboots when in creature stage

Ever since I isntalled the game, when I get to the creature stage, somewhere along the line (the longest was about an hour and the several shortest times have been instantly upon loading the creature stage), my computer will perform a sudden reboot and when I log back into windows, it gives me an error message saying "Windows has recovered from a serious error"

Any help?

When you submit the error to Microsoft, what does the report tell you?

The error reports that come up after I send the error to microsoft speak of things like corrupted error reports and it advises me to check things like new hardware (none) or software (obviously spore) and, in the case of software, to just perform a system restore and be done with it... I kinda don't want to have to do that...

Oh and also, once I managed to get past the creature stage once, I noticed that the crash happend to me in tribal and civ and space as well... each first crash in a stage was after like an hour, and then almost every crash after that happend just after loading was done with no actual game play...

Ok, Ill do that when I get home... and I know that the comp does probably barely come over the minimum specs in some areas, but if it does turn out that the problem is my hardware's age, the bright side is that I just ordered a new laptop that will play it...

But right now I'm not at my computer, I'm at a friends... so Ill do that in a few hours probably...

I'll be honest. I think the problem simply lies that your Power Supply is simply overwhelmed. It sounds like you have an old 400 watt max power supply and it's simply finally choking at a certain point when the computer starts drawing in more power to cool systems down.

My suggestion: Buy a new power supply. I suggest a VERY GOOD one, one that can can SUSTAIN at least 600 watts.

Note: 600w sustained PSU is different than a 600w max PSU.
