As we all kind of thought the problem is old drivers are installed, this is all you have to do to fix it i promise,

Go to this website

http://www.oldapps.com/old_version_nVidia.php
and download the first one, its not the latest driver so it wont be a porblem to install. once you install it i guarantee it will work unless you have a different problem!

What sort of nVidia graphics card do you have in the first place?

Edit. Nm. I forgot you have an nVidia GeForce FX5200, an older card. No offense, but in your case was the exception and not the rule. By all means, Spore technically doesn't support the GeForce FX series. The FX Series in particular focuses on the 5000 series of graphics cards (Ie. FX5200, FX 5600, FX5700, etc.)

For those who want to try it out, you're welcome to. HOWEVER, note that these are the only graphics cards that carry support for a legacy Forceware 93.71 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71_2.html). I don't recommend using it; I'd recommend at this point using this Beta Set of drivers. (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_177.92_beta.html)

it runs fine with a 5200, but it would probally run alot better if i bought a different one?

Kazel, are you running Forceware 93.71? If you have no idea, post up a dxdiag report.

Note: GeForce FX5200 series is not supported in Spore.
