No Spore Icon in Vista

Hi,

I have the same problems as the others. No icon upon installation. No listing under the start menu. Yet when accessed under My Computer Spore is sitting there. I have tried uninstalling it using Vista's uninstall and then running a reg cleanup. Then reinstalled. Same problem. Attached is the DxDiag file.

Is it listed on Windows Vista under Windows Button/Start > Games ?

I had this problem too what you do is go to my computer go to your hard drive then go to program files then to the spore file then in sporebin you will find sporeapp.exe which is what starts the game. You just create a short cut of that and that can be your icon

No, it is not, even after reinstalling.

Also, when I attempt to start the game, it says that it cannot get to the internet. This is the error message it displays.

The game cannot start
The game needs access to the internet in order to verify ownership of this game. Please insure that your computer is online and try again.

I know I have internet.
Any suggestions? I can live without an icon as long as the game RUNS.

Did you remember to grant permission in Windows Vista for SporeApp.exe to access the internet?
