Tribal Stage: Creatures Stuck in Place?

I'm not sure, this is unusual. I went through this game once already without this problem, but now I've got this new bug. I got to the tribal stage and moved them once - and only once. They got about half way to the point and stopped. They won't move, they won't eat, they won't do anything whatsoever, and stand there with big ???s over their heads. I've restarted the game several times and restarted my computer to no avail - they're still stuck in place.

Any help?

It seems to be an AI glitch - I started a new game that's fine, though it's unfortunate to lose the special ability and my pets.
