View Full Version : [Troubleshooting] Spore Running Issues

Hey, today i purchased Spore from Target. This means i purchased the full-version and did not download it.

I've come across the same issue as others have. http://uoem.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16720 I do not understand what secuROM is, nor am i computer-literate.

I've done what it seems everyone else has: reboot, uninstall, reinstall, move folders around, etc. etc.

I have been at this for more than 2 hours now. I Click on Spore (from various launch locations, i.e. my computer or desktop) and my driver starts to run. It revs like it's trying to run something. A "processing" symbol appears next to my mouse. Then about 10 seconds go by and a "Spore has stopped working" Windows is checking for a solution to the problem. ... then "Spore has stopped working. A problem caused the program t stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Darkmoon

Would you please post up a dxdiag report as well as visit C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Spore\Sporebin and post up any exception report text files please?

I have exactly the same problem and the same error message. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, etc numerous times.

NOTE: I HAVE FIXED IT :D
Try right clicking Sporeapp.exe and then go to compatibility, change it to windows XP SP2. ALSO, uninstall EA Downloader. IT worked for me :D

i tried that pyratus, no luck here =(.

also, i feel EXTREMELY dumb asking this, but how do i come about finding my DxDiag file/text and linking it? I've found the exception reports, but also not sure how i link them.

sorry, really inexperienced and physically drained this week =\

Download the new patch available for Spore. You might need the EADM...

ok, good news. i figured out how to post a dxdiag report =)

i spent ~1hour on the phone with EA tech support yesterday. The lady said she had no idea what was up, so she told me to send in a dxdiag report and an EA Easy Info - Pogo?

Anyways, the DxDiag is posted below.

Thanks.

Let's try updating your graphics drivers to the latest version available. The ones you have date back from 2007.

There's a link to the latest beta version of nVidia Forceware drivers at the top of this Spore discussion forum.

It would be nice if you'd post a dxdiag report :)
