sry if this is redundant of another thread....
yea i got this problem. went out and bought the game and put the disk in the drive and i got nothin. no autoplay. no install prompts at all.
tried to do it manually and it appears to be non existent whilst in the drive.
i rebooted, checked my drivers and the whole deal. no issues. put in a plethora of other disks in the drive to verify that the drive was in fact working and it was.
looked at disk...its pristine. no cracks scratches etc. software for said drive is fine according to the sytem hardware detecty thingy ;).

what am i doing wrong here?

this disk functions as though it is blank or cannot be read by my cdrom drive. and it does try to read it but soon gives up as though it has determined that there is no data on it.

the drive is LITE-ON RLH52R1P in my properties screen....dunno if that helps...
warcraft installed fine in this drive.

any assistance anyone could provide on the matter would be greatly appreciated and warranted for i am at a loss.

thanks

LH52R1P is a CDRW by Lite-On. The Spore disc is a DVD :)

And don't feel bad about creating threads. I encourage it when it comes to technical support issues. Easier to follow :D

Generally yes. Some DVD drives might be too old, so generally I'm recommending anything made within the last 12-24 months should suffice.
