Hey Everyone...

There will be a scheduled downtime sometime next week depending on how my schedule goes in addition to checking the registration protocols.

Upgrading will be as followed:

1) Upgrading Site Software to Version 6.0
2) Install New Registration Protocols
3) Importing Users Information From Main Site to Forums
4) Purging User Site Database
5) Importing New Forum Users to Mainsite


This is the most extensive upgrade WorldSims will be conducting. We will close down our main site, and our forums during the time of the upgrade.

Moderators, you won't be able to notice the forums closed to the public. A Notice will Be Posted in the Staff Area when the forums the site goes offline for upgrading

In short, the upgraded WorldSims will be the most significant one we've ever conducted.

Userdata won't be lost during the transfer. We will take extensive precaution to ensure the safety of the data.

No worries really Fae. I've gotten the import protocols down mainly, but I still need to rewrite a few portions of this site before it works.

Well version 6 of the software was released on schedule. I'll be most likely reprogramming the necessary parts to the site to begin the necessary upgrades.

I've been having severe trouble Version 6 of the software. I just barely finished upgrading it to our artist site.

The upgrade process was rough there so it would be even rougher here at WorldSims.

Expect the forums and the main site to go offline sometime today around 2:30 Pacifict Standard Time.

We will start in the following order of the upgrade process:

1) Main Site (http://www.worldsims.org)
2) Transfering Users to Forums
3) Forums Script Upgrade
4) Transfering Users to Main Site
5) Restarting System.


It is gonna be a long day of upgrades so do bear with us :)
