Well apart from many others here I did indeed have some of my works published..
Just never really bothered i gues as i never felt they had much 'Pulling Power' or Meaning
that is until a few weeks ago when I was in Class Our Asignment was to do an Oral Presentation on what we thought was our greatest acomplishments or what meant the most to us..
Well to cut a long story short I Read Aloud my most inner personal thoughts and poems and short stories I had there in my Desk!
A thought crosses my mind as I read the first poem i ever wrote
"what if I end up making a fool of myself infront of my 'Straight' Friends?"
those worries were soon expelled and pushed far from my subconcious when all of a sudden I get a standing ovation!
"for ME?" i asked my self subconsiously
they all were smiling and cheering and clapping?
well i thought any minute now i will wake up from this weird dream i have had on so may rare occasions before but inevitably once awoken always end up lying face down on the floor!:D but to my astonishment the "dream" was not yet over I got up and took a solemn bow for my seemingly Keen Audience and then exited without any hint of hesitation,
A Girl followed toot sweet after me and said she admired me for my brave endeavor! what was she on about? lol "This has gotta be a dream!" i thought to myself hmm was that a 'hit on' i began pondering
nevertheless I thanked her and continued to exit the building.
LOL My English Literature Was officially over! just in case you were wondering why I so abruptly 'ran for the hills' ha ha
Okay enough about that story ..for now!:)
Onto my Poem that caused them to stand up:D
oh yeah another thing I should probably Mention is this was dedicated in honor of my Great forfather Sir Robert Southey!
so in keeping to that writing style/Era I wanted it to relate closely to his writing abilitlies!
So without further delay (pun intended) Here is My "Repentance"
.................................................. .........................................
Repentance;
As the Ephemerals petals wilts and dies alone in solitude
so in this do i feel the isolation and yearning for a long lost love,
full of sorrowful remorse I desperately long to elude
Though I try to make amends for what I have done,
still unknown to me why I feel such a neglect to relent
For such a sin to which seems one cannot repent
It is in this that causes me such disdain and distress
Standing before you now ready to confess
As in confrontation of Heated and Sour debate
Truly i never meant to utter those words of scorn and Hate
A wise man once said "The worst solitude is to be destitute of sincere friendship"
So in this i vow to you never again shall i let my tongue slip
Secretly i ask myself this inwardly
As the night sky transcends then disperses,
now a new sun has arisen
Please my love say all is forgiven?
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Okay so what is that makes it unique?
the play on words?
tautological meanings?
Ephemeral (Lasting just one day/very shortlived) Flower dying (that's what's been Described in line 1)
hmm or is it not to your Liking or appeal to your taste?
Love to know what you all think, be it loathing it or liking it or even constructive critique!
thanks again!
