View Full Version : USA, Posible War

ok, there is a debate in the US senate i think it is over weather or not to give Bush unlimited authority to take on Iraq? and if he does, they have Nuclear weapons and Biological ones as well, don't they...Sudam is another one of those crazies...lets hear some of your opinions on this, i say its a bad idea to do it...
ManagerJosh
09-23-2002, 03:03 AM
I think we need to seriously reconsider about going to war...
Helén
09-23-2002, 02:21 PM
War is never a permanent solution. I don't think it's even a good one. There is a "say" here that: "violence gives more violence". That "Damn Saddam" is a maniac. yes, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, bin Laden, and many more.
How many lifes shall it cost? Who takes the worse hit in a war?
How many children loses their fathers. How many starving homeless? Have they deserved it?? Are they the responsible ones??
It does brings the good old song "Blowing in the wind" to mind.
Let's hope for peace.
ManagerJosh
09-23-2002, 05:27 PM
I think the phrase is "Dust In The Wind" should a nuke destroy the entire earth.
Tweety
09-23-2002, 08:21 PM
I think that, if the UN doesn't agree with Bush about attcking Iraq (As I've heard they don't), then we really shouldn't. I think if the rest of the world doesn't believe it's a good idea, then Bush should understand that now is obviously not the time to take care of Saddam.
timz2rules
09-23-2002, 09:10 PM
Josh, on your note, we would go into a nuclear winter, we would die of starvation first before anything else :P, and yes the UN doesn't fully support it, but they do a bit...its a good debate topic, no?
ManagerJosh
09-23-2002, 10:56 PM
If someone shoots nukes on everyone on the earth, we would be dust in the wind tim...literally. Almost no one would survive.

The question is : what can mankind do the keep crazy leaders in leash????..
The peace movement at the 60's did have a point after all. (Take away the drugs of course.) Which shows that everything has a backside.
Which back do we want? Which way is the better good for most of the mankind? I'm positive it's now war anyway...

I don't think they really are "evil" Tim. All parents wants what they think is the best for theire children.:) Yours too I'm sure.
But what most people doesn't get or know is that if you "degrade" and talk less to and about a person that's the result you'll get in the end. :(
So Tim you're just one of many that has this happening to you. Don't buy it anymore, because it isn't true. You ARE smart. You have a lot of insight too about things. Stop sell yourself short. Start look at the things you know you're good about and then open up to get other areas to be better. :) Do NOT go into the trap of selfdegrading!!
You're a sweetie Tim, and you are smart. You just stopped using your abilities in some areas. :);) OK?

Sweet....
Well, i'm finally done reading all of the post of this thread...
i agree with most of you in that war is NOT the answer. and that bush shouldn't go in alone against saddam (or however you spell his name). He should wait for all of the allies to join him.. I have heard that countries like Russia and others have said they wouldn't support bush at ALL if he went to war. i think one of mankinds greatest flaws is short sightedness (spelling?). they only see what they want to see, and/or ignore everything else. they dont bother to look at what could happen if (example) they went to war with iraq. When you think about it, if/when bush goes to war with whoever, then gas and other oil prices will go up becuase that is where the most oil in the world is found and produced. and many many many innocent lives would die as a result. not to mention the debt the US is already in would go even higher to pay for the war, and thats the start of a downfall of a country, debt from war and such things. it happened with spain, france, england (granted it was hundreds of years ago, but history repeats itself). Well, thats my views on the war threat.
Nina, let me tell you (even tho you'll just get mad at me for sayin it) I sell myself short! I say i am stupid and am not as smart as i truely am becuase when your smart and people know it, your in the "lime light" more. and i dont like to be in the "lime light".
Hey! how about a history lesson, the term "lime light" came from when theatres were in the early stages, there was a light that was the color of lime (i think) that shone on the stage where the actors acted.
*sighs* i need to stop makin such long post....
Helén

And what about you my dear, sweet friend :classic: Naah I can't get mad at you.. :clasic: ;) I just don't like when you "sell yourself short" although I understand what you mean. I really do.

the best way is to get rid of Saddam without war, that's the optimal concept. However we don't know if that is even possible :(
As far as I'm concern I think Saddam died years ago like Osama Bin Ladin
Helén
10-19-2002, 05:27 PM
Maybe you're right about that Josh. Personally I think Saddam is still alive, I'm not so sure about bin Laden though. Don't ask why i think so, it's just a "feeling".. But tha best would be to get proof theire both are dead.
i wont say i'm stupid... just not smart, as in average..
what has happened with saddam? i thought he was still alive.....

Russia doesn't want to fight, but they may support...Iraq, and those others...England want full support...and will give it...
the way things are turrning out, is that this war against terrorism may turn into World War 3...its becomeing disgusting in the middle-east and the west is starting to get a lil touchy...
think about what may happen if the west does intervine...

I don't fear death. But what makes me sad is to see all people that suffers. And especially my friends being sad and worried about so serious matters as this is.
I want you to be happy.. to live a life without fear ... to live a life with no other worries than daily small stuff.
only the ignorant live like that nina.. only the ignorant. i think that is prolly where the saying "ignorance is bliss" came from. unfortunately, some people are part ignorant and part educated. that can be a bad mix as it can result in some understanding, but not complete. thus the person is confused and more afraid of what they dont fully know. I'm not saying every ignorant person lives in bliss, and every person that is ignorant yet educated is living in terror or anything. this is just a generalization. although i did just think of a joke, funny how the brain works, eh?. I think that for the most part, the people that have been talkin in this thread have been mostly educated, and not so much ignorant.

Jake, what I mean is that I wish you COULD live a life like that. Not that you are or should as this planet really are in jeopardy.
But it's also true that knowledge is power and strenght. But only as long as you can use it to influence with. And then you have to realize that your influences can be of blessing or hurt others. So you must be willing to accept the full responsibility that comes with that power - and it's here the leaders of today fails. They're using their powers and is making impacts on other peoples lifes - but they doesn't take the responsibility for it. And that's dangerous.

I dont really have any fancy sayings but just as a note ; In recent times it becomes clear to all or at least it should that noone really knows whats gonna happen next,so we should all appreciate those we know and care about.. cuz they may not be here tomorrow. And most importantly, let those people know how you feel, cuz ya just never know if you'll get another chance tomorrow.
