I'll make this a read only topic as I see no reason for this discussion to continue.
Maxis nor EA would ever approve or release a demo as it will give its competitors a chance to Reverse Engineer The Sims 2 and learn secrets about the game and implement them in competiting products before The Sims 2 Hits the Market and cause chaos for them as it makes The Sims 2 no longer have unique features.
In layments term. Someone will discover how the Sims 2 tick, borrow ideas or code for their own game, implement them, improve on them, and send it on the market before EA/Maxis does.
