Yesterday morning my providers server went downhill. When I called them they said it might take 3 days!!!!. Fortunately it didn't.
Anyway.. if I suddenly disappear .. then you know why.. Some of you can therefor help me notify my friends in simschat and at the BBS to.
I wish I could choose another provider for ADSL, but there are none around me... *sighes* Telia is very unstable I'm afraid..

servers...such messy things...never always working right..i still use a 56 k amazingly, and the server doesn't always work...*mumbles* and then theres the schools server...

hmmmm if you're having trouble with Internet Explorer, you could try downloading and using another kind of browser, just to see if it would work... like Netscape, or Neoplanet....

... that reminds me, I need to check and see if the auto-run degfrag has been working on my computer lately... I set it to do it on Saturday at like 4 am every week... but I'm not sure it's been doing it. :p

if its IE...what one do you have...6.0? if so, you need the service pack :) it doesn't work otherwise :p and if its youe Windows Explorer...then you need to reload windows...

Oh yeah, I remember one version of IE we had to go download an update or something for it... I would hate to have to reload windows... sigh. Hope it's all better soon!!

i guess it is big...but i read at Windows that you should reformat every 3- 4 months...:confused:

well. I've heard once a year anyway.. Reinstall the whole system - all programs... *sighes* Each 3-4 months naaahhh - that's to much! :p

... it's partly that I have SOOO much STUFF I want to get saved and backed up... it will be MUCH easier now that we have the cd burner drive... I saved a TON of my sims stuff to cds and cleared up about 7 GIGS of space on my computer's hard drive!!

I know Josh! I've seen it done. *sighes* Takes hours! But I'm NO good at all at those things. Normally I have my friend on the phone instructing me step by step if something needs handling. ;) And it always works. bUt then I never remmeber what we did or how. :p

Mmm... I have ADSL. I wouldn't be here at all without it. Could never afford the phone bills hehe..
ISnce we have 2 puters the router has a firewall. The i have norton AV going plus i can activate Zonealarm.
Without the router Norton and Zonealarm should be enough. Or if you choose another AV pgm.

What speed is your dial up Josh? My old dial up was SUPPOSED to be able to go 56k speed... but almost every time we connected it would only go 28k-32k speed!!! VERY frustrating!! Now we have cable broadband connection and I LOVE it!

We seem to be talking about internet connections, and what's offered in our areas, and which is going faster, there's dial up, cable, and dsl. Cable and dsl are both considered "broadband" and are faster, usually. :) Hope this helps!
