I've started taking neighborhood requests for The Sims 2. If you want a neighborhood made for TS2 and you don't have SC4 why not ask for one?
All you have to do is post what type of terrain you want (Mountians, plains, ect.), whether you want a river or not, bridges (How many?), you get the idea.:p

Here's my first neighborhood that Bri5002 requested:

Comments on this neighborhood? :)

@Everyone else: I've made my own neighborhood testing out bridges over valleys. I'm guessing it'll work in TS2 although I'm not 100% sure. :)

So here's my neighborhood:

I didnt know you could build bridges over dry land! I thought it would only work over water. And im positive that will work in the Sims.

Great stuff Flashback!

I can't wait to create new neighborhoods in the game. Looks like they'll have some great features for that like adding water towers, rainbows, etc....

http://www.snootysims.com/misc/base23.jpg This pic shows a lot! Its in Japanese, but you get the idea....

That looks like a cool way to add character to a neighborhood. I think it would be fun to put a rainbow at the end of a waterfall. If there was a waterfall.

Flameback, great neighborhoods!

Just don't forget one crucial thing, though. The Devs have stated that the Sims can only live in the middle 1/2 of the neighborhood map, meaning that anything within 16 tiles from the edges won't be buildable! =(

It leaves a pretty small area for the Sims (at least it seems like it'll be small, it may be a lot bigger 'in-game' once we see how the neighborhoods import).

Just something to keep in mind while you're building! =)

yeah - I didn't realize that's what this was about - I thought it was just a thread to put neighborhoods in - so I did. Whups! I hope you like it though!

I like your neighborhood, but it looks like you have the area where you expect it to have zoning to be too close to the edges. You need to leave 16 squares deep all the way around and only have the area for houses and community lots in the center 32x32 area. You can have roads (and props) outside that area, but you won't be able to put any zoning there.

Isn't designing these fun though!!!

I love the neighborhood you made for me. It is just like I said I wanted! You are very talented. I would love to have simcity4 to make cities!

Have you putting them into TS2 yet?

I put around 20 of mine in to see how they would work. Some of the experiments were *very* interesting. (In a lot of them I was working with "failure states" where I was pushing the idea to a limit.)

I was playing with it again last night and having a great time figuring out some of the ways to do things.

I was amazed at how many lots you *can* put in a neighborhood. I had a pretty hilly one that I was working with mostly last night and found when I was done that I had put in about 80 lots, most of them 5x5 size!

I also found that if you have a big barrier on one side, such as a mountain peak or a cliff, that it's very difficult to get to all the areas where a lot could be put. ("Another one bites the dust!")

When they say "middle 1/2, it's not a border thing. It's sort of like there is a circle where you can place the lots (and which can be put into the visible area.) It seems to be about 18-20 squares off to the side, but less than 14 diagonal squares into the corner. I wish there was a tool to show us where that will be when we're building. It would make it so much easier.

Just an update guys some lots are already made which will come with the neighborhood when I release it. :)

Hey, I also tried my hand at making a few landscapes. Only it seems that It is pretty hard to build in Sims 2 on landscapes that are not flat.

If you haven't already seen in my sig my computer has crashed (No idea why yet.) so everything is gone. Well not gone just I don't have the data back yet. (I'm on my 1GHz, 256mb ram at the moment!:dead: ) Hopefully I'll have the data back tonight.

Okay now for the real update.:p Soon all my neighborhoods that I trust (Ones that don't have the evil blue sky, ect.) will be put onto SimStuff. The reason being I am too cheap to buy more space for my account  and I need more space for my huge neighborhood I am making (Yes a did not abandon this project. :) ).

All of my houses will also be put onto SimStuff.

All of this will hopefully happen within 24hrs.
