ugh! help!

OK well i got the Sims 2 today and ive been trying to get it to work all day!! ive seen a lot of ppl post about this but everything ive tried hasnt worked.. i get the error message "failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this system! Please make sure you have a DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics adapter and have installed the latest drivers provided by the manufacturer. The application will now terminate" ..ive tried re-downloaded the DirectX 9.0c and ive downloaded geforce 2 and Inted Extreme Graphics.. nothing has worked.. does anybody know how to fix this?:confused:

it looks like you are trying to install two different brands of graphics drivers. if you do not know your graphics manufacturer or chipset, check this thread http://forums.worldsims.org/showthread.php?t=2874 which will assist you in upgrading drivers and installing directx so hopefully you will be able to play the sims 2!
