It's a pretty cool game; you're a dictator running a small tropical island, and you must try to gain your inhabitants' approval while keeping a good economy. You also have a bunch of things that you are able to build, including tourist attractions, farms, and TV stations. I bought it a little while before The Sims: Unleashed came out, and right now I'm actually playing Tropico rather than The Sims. I guess it goes without saying that this is a very fun game in my opinion. :)

It's great! The caribean isle idea is the best!!! You can make hotels and everything... There's an expansion already. But this game lose the fun quickly, so, in about 2 monthes you almost don't wanna play more:(

Is it customizable at all? Like can you make stuff for it? :p

Nope Fae... You can get the pre-build buildings. Otherwise, you can upgrade them like usual... Like adding more stuff for the building. Not create a new building... I wish there could be a tool like this.

aaah I see, ok, I guess it would be fun for a while, till you didn't really have anything new to do going on. Makes sense now. :)

I figured tropico is a cross between SimIsle and The Sims.

It's more alike sc4, because you can see the mood of your "sims" and make things to make it get better... Like, they say stuff like "i love my job", "we need more hospitals i guess" and if they're die, it appear of what they die, for example, heart attack... You can't control directly the characters, but you can make their lifes better:) :) :)

They will always cost the world nothing, except the hours and hours I've spent working on them, and whatever they're paying for their internet connection, or gas to get to the library, or however that works... yeah....

Hi,
I played Tropico for a long time, too. It`s a funny game and I enjoyed playing it.
There were several utilities on the net to change the islands, build new ones and much more. I have had an editor to make new scopes of duties :squareeyed: for the game. Only the graphics could not be changed :disappointed:

Would you say that Tropico is easier or harder to play than Sim City 4? I *LOVE* the graphics and everything for Sim City 4 but I'm having a lot of trouble catching on to expanding only a LITTLE at a time.... :p
