What language are they speaking?

Hi, I'm new to these forums and to Sim2, so far I love it, very addicting. I have the English version (USA) and when I play the characters speak in a different language to each other. Its not Spanish either, how do I change this?

They are speaking Simlish, a language created by Maxis. It is not changeable.
