Well, I Just started my first family in ts2. I Am Continuing the Simmer Legacy :D

well, after some issues with ts2, ive now moved the simmer family into a custom made household in veronaville. its a 2 story house (3 including the currently unoccupied basement). Vchat and Nina Simmer are a very happy couple right now and are about 24 or 25 days from being elderly. and Nina has been pregnant for atleast 2 or 3 days now. she should be due any day. there have been a few ups and downs such as a few burnt tv dinners t'ing off Nina and then Vchat coming in and wanting to make out. but other than that, there are a happily married couple and i await tommorrow when i can continue the lives of Vchat and Nina Simmer. :D

well, to continue how the simmer household has progressed....

Nina had her baby. it was a boy and his name is Gordon. so far he has grown up into a toddler and has 3 days to go to get to the child stage.

in that time span both Nina and Vchat wanter another child so once again, Nina is pregnant. now just to await the birth. hopefully it will be a girl this time around.

ok. first big news is that Nina almost died. luckily Vchat wasnt fr so i had him run to the kitchen where Nina was and had him plead for her life. he won so Nina is still alive. a little while later Nina finally had her baby. its a girl. her name is Jennifer. then very shortly after we had a small birthday party for Gordon who is now a child. ill post up the family's loading screen soon.

well, Gordon is getting an A+ in school now although it may drop sometime during my next playing cycle since he went off to school without finishing his HW. Jennifer is now a toddler and already knows how to talk and is currently working on the potty training. both Vchat and Nina want another child, but im not gonna even bother. atleast not until Gordon and Jennifer grow up into Teens so they can help take care of the baby.

also, Gordon has a GF now. shes one of the original sims. iirc her name is Katherine (forgot the last name). Gordon and Katherine communicate alot through chat and email so far.

That is so great! I have a family based on my own that I have been playing for days now. Pregnant Kristal died and her hubby won the plea for her life, too. We now have 4 children, Allen-teenager, Lexi-who started out as a child and became a teenager, Aiden-who started out as a chubby baby and is now a chubby boy, and toddler Alexander-who has brown hair and looks a little weird to me. LOL Kristal and John keep wanting to have another baby, but I"m putting it off, too. And John keeps sneaking off to the single girl's houses!! Every time I play the single girl's (their family name is Hotties) he shows up and eats their food and sits in their hot tub!!! Now, if I caught real-life John doing that. . . :dead:

well, some good news here. Gordon is now a good friend with Katherine. im trying to see if i can get him up far enough to continue a relationship later when he turns into a teen. which brings me to another question: if gordon grows up, katherine wont follow will she? ill have to play her family to the point of making her a teen wouldnt I?. anyways, to continue: his other friend though, Orlando, has stopped calling Gordon but instead calls Vchat at all hours. whether vchat is available or not i simply have the sim that answers the phone say hes not available.

also, Jennifer is now grown up into a child. looks so much like her father. havent had much time to work on her any. i quit the game as soon as her birthday party was over.

I think Orlando is the same kid that keeps calling my adult sim and pestering him on the phone all the time... poor kid wants to be friends I guess!

I hope you play Katherine to be a teen at the same time as Gordon so they can see if friendship blossoms into more! ;) :D It's your game though, but I hope you update us again to tell how Gordon's teen years go. :)

oh yeah. ill definitely be updating for a while. and i will definitely be playing Katherine's family this afternoon to get her a day away from teen status. so when i go back to playing the simmer's, i can get gordon up to teen status, then simply go back to katherine and get her up to teen status.

ok. i found out the family names of both Katherine and Orlando. they are Gregory and Butler respectively. but one eensy weensy problem. i cant find the families in any neighborhood. i tried looking at each and every house that was place and even checked the family bins and have had no luck. any ideas why Maxis would leave the families unplayable? i dont see why they would be NPC's considering the fact that most if not all NPC's are there for one single purpose such as a maid, clerk, etc..

Maybe they are like the Townies etc. from the earlier Sims 1 expansion? I haven't gone looking for them yet, I just thought they would be neighbors somewhere since I met them on the community lots.... hmmm.....

well, after running into some confusion with the adoption service yesterday, i had to basically bulldoze the house and reload it with a package i already packaged the day before. only downside ive seen here is that the relationships are lost. so now Gordon is interested in Carla (once again forgot the name. all i know is she is a redhead), and Jennifer is now interested in Orlando. whether or not they continue the relationships into their teen years depends on if Carla and Orlando are townies and if they will grow up automatically over time.

Nina is once again going to have another child. shes not exactly pregnant yet, but she should be within a sim day or so.

where i left off, Gordon and Jennifer were at school. Gordon is 2 days away from being a teen and Jennifer is 7 days away. Nina and Vchat i dont remember offhand, but it was like 16 or 17.

I just wanted to say that I am enjoying this board very much and love to check in to things like Vchat's Simmers stories and other family happenings you all are having. It's making my long wait to get this game that much easier to tolerate.

I'm HOPING to be able to get it this coming weekend. Problem is, my daughter wants it too, we have 2 computers. But $100 is a bit steep for my first paycheck in 4 months :silly: May have to get one copy and "share"

Anywho... by the time I do get the game, I'll have a lot of up front knowledge when I load it up, so thanks to you all for what you share and bring to this forum. I at least feel like I will have a better understanding of things when I do finally get to play.

Ive found that a lot of the "townies" are in every neighborhood. I built my own neighborhood, and a whole bunch of the same people from Pleasantview showed up at the house of my first family. Theyre just there I guess.

also, on a side note, one thing that i just noted which almost knocked me out of my chair is that Gordon looks just like a younger version of myself. uncanny resemblence. including stuff like eyes, nose, etc.. and considering the fact that he wasnt self designed but instead was determined by the parents genetics makes it very odd imo.

Not to mention that you can start downloading houses and Sims from the exchange and get all prepared ahead of time! =)

Then on your first day of playing you can have a neighborhood stocked with houses and sims, and not have to start from scratch!

a small update:

Gordon is now a teen. but the pary ended up being a "disaster" as the game calls it. and there is another family member on the way (nina is pregnant).

i think what im gonna do for relationships between gordon and jennifer is just get them hooked up with the 2 sims that are causing the feud in the neighborhood. get the 2 families to finally make nice maybe.

Sorry the party for your teen was a disaster, my party for my twins turning to teens was a disaster too! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong... my guests SEEMED to be happy and having fun... is it that the sims in my family have to constantly interact with the guest sims the whole time?!?! :eek:

well, the only update i can give at this point is that Nina finally had her baby. it was a girl. her name is Angie. so now we have 5 members in the Simmer household: Vchat and Nina which are the parents, Gordon who is a Teen, Jennifer who is a child, and Angie who is a newborn.

Jennifer is now a Teen. you can check her picture in the loading screen below. the party ended up being "Good Time" thanks to inviting everyone into the 2 adjacent hot tubs. and i had about 6 guests there. :D . as well, checking the family info in the neighborhood view, Jennifer's title is a "Total Babe" :D it isnt just whistlin' Dixie. :p

also, Gordon now has a crush on Juliette Capp and is just about ready to have a steady relationship. :cool:

Angie is now a Toddler. already tought her how to walk, im very close to finishing potty training her, and i have still yet to teach her how to talk.

Well, Angie is now a Child and is already getting good grades.

Gordon has already had his first run in with the law. he snuck out with Juliette one night and when he came back, he came back in a cop car. the officer ended up lecturing Nina, but i guess it went through one ear and out the other cuz she never said a word to Gordon about it.
also, Gordon is now in Love with Juliette. his lifetime relationship meter is @ 79. hes already had his first kiss, now im just waiting for the lifetime meter to go up more so i can try for the "Go Steady" interaction.

but Jennifer doesnt have a relationship yet. although she has struck up some pretty long conversations with Curtis a couple times.

last time i checked, both Nina and Vchat were 8 days away from being elderly, Gordon was 9 days away from being an Adult, Jennifer was something like 13 or 14 days, and Angie i dont remember offhand.

one other question i have: why is it that when i have Gordon ask Juliette to go steady, she refuses? both relationship meters are @ 100 and they are in a lve relationship. so far every interaction except go steady has worked. can it all possibly be because Juliette still has a thing for Romeo or what?

go play her for a little bit and if they are still in love then have her be mean to him. Or if you have met then both. Then invite them both over and let romeo catch juliette cheating with you lol. I would personally go play her for a bit and just do things to squash the relationship.

well, i did end up finding out that it was because of the relationship between her and romeo. i went to the capp household and just had Juliette relentlessly argue with Romeo. so right now her relationship with him is down to about 65 on both meters, they no longer have a crush and are no longer best friends but are simply family friends now. then i had her call gordon over and she proposed to go steady and it was a success :D now just to get them both to adults and get engaged. Juliette has about 9 days to go and Gordon has about 6 days.

well, we had 3 birthdays all at once today. Vchat and Nina are now elders and Angie is now a Teen. and hopefully before the night is up i can get Gordon to the adult stage since he is only 2 sim days away.

oh. and although i forgot what it was called, but the one aspiration rewards gift that greens up all needs, i highly recommend. its save my backside more times than i can count. just make sure the person you want to use it has their aspiration meter up above gold. but in the simmer household, that is never a problem. we always have atleast 2 or 3 sims at the platinum mood level at any given time.

and btw, i will try to get the packaged version of the lot up asap for those interested.

Good News Everyone! Gordon and Juliette Are Now Happily Married! so Juliette is now part of the Simmer Family. :)

the family has come a long LONG way since Vchat and Nina were first created.

well, new updates:

with Gordon and Juliette Married i moved them out and i had Jennifer and Angie join them.

but this time around, although i opted for the biggest lot available, i only used the motherlode cheat as i needed it to get the house built. so right now they are at their usual §20k.

Juliette has already had her baby. its a girl and her name is Jackie. Jackie is already to her toddler stage.

also, Jennifer is now an adult. although she never had her first kiss yet, im still working on getting her relationship up with Curtis which seems to be stuck @ 79 on the lifetime meter.

i know this thread is old, but i figured i would continue the updates on my family here rather than start a new thread

unfortunately, due to cirumstances, i had to restart the Simmer Family. started them out as Vchat Simmer (adult), Nina Simmer (adult), Johnathan Simmer (teen), and Ashley Simmer (teen). shortly after i moved them into their house, i sent Johnathan and Ashley off to College.

At college they met up with Chaz, Ellen, Marla and Phineaus (dont remember their original last names, but they were maxian sim's). they all got along very well in college although there were a few times that jealousy got the best of them. towards the middle of their college life they all got engaged to one another. Ashley was engaged to Phineaus, Johnathan was engaged to Marla, and Chaz was engaged to Ellen.

Upon leaving college, Chaz and Ellen moved into their own house. a small and cozy 2 bedroom household. they married soon thereafter. they soon had a child: a little girl named Jennifer Frost. she quickly grew up into the childhood stage. this is where i left them at.

The rest of the brood moved back in with Vchat and Nina. again, they all got married on the spot. Ashley and Phineaus kept the Simmer name, and Johnathan and Marla kept the Biggs name. soon after they all got jobs to keep the family afloat. cuz little did they know was that they had 2 children on the way which would require a nursery to be built. about a week down the road, both Nina and Marla had children. both little boys. Nina's child was named Sam Simmer and Marla's was named Adam Biggs. they are both now to the child stage.

shortly after their childhood birthday, both Vchat and Nina died of old age. one right after the other. reason i say of old age is because they were both at the elderly stage in life (nina grew up shortly after birth of Sam) and neither showed any signs of previous issues like neglected needs and whatnot. just out of the blue they dropped dead.

so now its Marla and Johnathan Biggs, their son Adam Biggs, Phineaus and Ashley Simmer, and Sam Simmer who both families take care of mutually.

Ashley is also pregnant and will soon give birth. hopefully to twins.

I'm using the same house as the Simmers for my family, though, you've made additions and I haven't done that yet. I have a family of 5 in mine. I so should have made a nursery like yours, never thought of it though. I have cribs in the hallway! I have 2 adults, one teen, one child, and one baby. I'm thinking of trying for another baby. I'm not a very good micromanager though and it usually turns into mass confusion, which is fine with me. It makes me laugh.

LOL That Simmer's house looks like a nightmare to play ... well I'm sure it would drive me utterly batty to try playing it. I love the floodlit tombstones though and ... 3 cribs! Yikes! I wouldn't even bother. I would have someone move out and take (at least) one of the sprogs with him/her.

On the other hand I agree with Duzzy. Some of the best laughs I get are when I have wandered off and forgotten to hit pause and I come back to find two days have passed and there is total mayhem going on! :p

a few updates here. nothing big. i moved my families into a new neighborhood i custom built which is loaded with luxurious homes from mts2 as well as some small starter homes for future generations to start in. i started playing the biggs family for a bit and got to the point where john and marla are at the top of their careers and are permanent platinum (medical for marla and law enforcement for johnathan). adam grew up and in the same day got a few scholarships and headed off to college (currently sitting in the student bin). and john and marla have another baby on the way.

small update. Marla had her baby. it was a boy. his name is Gordon. he is now at his toddler stage. i also got Marla into a new job which is in the science career (her new lifetime aspiration is to become a mad scientist). i have yet to have the politics career pop up so Johnathan is still Captain Hero. once i get Gordon up to a teen and move him out to college i will work on the other sections of the family.
