Help! I Can't Build in Buy Mode

Hello please help. i have the sims 2 installed in my pc.. i can select objects from buy mode but cannot select anything from build mode...
whatz the prob?
if somepatch is req or anything than plz send me or tell me where to get it

I think they're going to have to make a sticky on this subject. Keeps coming up a lot.

Make sure you're not using a no-CD hack. If you are, that's the problem. If not, then let the more technically or game experienced here help you. I have not played yet, only going by what I've read and searched up on here.

Holy crap. I must be about the luckiest person ever. Everyone is having these crazy problems, but my game has had no flaws and no glitches so far that I could see. Its crazy I tell you! CRAZY!

I have the game cd i copied the crack file on the sims...
should i load the game from cd autoplay... i do have the cd inserted but i always run from the start menu should i run from the autoplay ... or from where?

We will not support no-cd patches. You should just use the normal game with the CD.
