Ok I just a week ago rebooted my pc which had Windows Me on it only when I was done my PC could not detect my modem. So my co-worker told me to put Windows Xp on it which I did I think I installed it twice found out how to delete that problem and now. Well when I am playing the Sims 2 a while after my keyboard stops working and i am not able to name my baby or do the walls at one time I mean the keyboard just won't work.
Please, help me

Do things like ALT-TAB still work, or does the entire keyboard fail to respond? Does the mouse still respond? Is the computer demonstrably functioning, or could it have frozen? What kind of keyboard do you have, a standard PS/2, or one of those newfangled USB doohickeys?

This sometimes does happen to me for some strange reason. you can't type or move the direction with the keyboard. don't know how it comes and how it goes:confused:

I'm not sure if this is really directly TS2 related. You could always try percussive maintenance.

it may be a long shot, but do you use Whatpulse? if so, the latest version seems to cause some keylag in alot of games.

This happens to me as well. Everything else is still running fine but my keyboard just stops. I can even minimize the window, load up another program, and my keyboard is fine, but in the program I was using there is no keyboard.
XP has a program recovery system that recovers programs from potential crashes while you use them. These arte minor programming hiccups that would have sent ME and 98 into epileptic convulsions but fortunately hardly phase XP. When this happens it could be a crash recovery that leaves certain threads in the running program damaged--like that thread that runs keyboard I/O. However, since your mouse still works, save, exit, and reload the program fresh.

the thing is that the keyboard will start to work again, I'm trying to remember how I did it the last time...

Hello stamata.
If you reproduce the problem please post again and let us know the details.

You could try running the game in windowed mode and keep WinXP's onscreen keyboard on. In the event that the normal keyboard fails, try using the onscreen keyboard. "Accessories > Accessibility > Onscreen Keyboard".
