I haven't tried with the cop but I do have a romantic relationship with the fireman going for one of my sims. I think she likes the uniform because they built a relationship pretty fast:D. They fell in love quicker than anyone that I have played so far.

How can we talk to a cop to beginning a new relationship, when I click on it, it does nothing..

Usually the cop will not stick around very long, but once it shows up on your relationship panel, you can call it on the phone for more.
