heh yeah this probably won't still be here... I was just making the point.. if you're 10, you could check EITHER the 0-10 OR the 10-20 age range... if you're 20, you coud check EITHER the 10-20 OR the 20-30 age range, so when I'm 30, I would have to guess whether I should check age 20-30 range, which is true, OR the 30-40 age range, which is ALSO true!! See the dilemma now?? heehee! :p
ManagerJosh
10-24-2002, 12:35 AM
please dont' remind me Fae.....each day I grow older and I see more gray...and wrinkles..
Helén
10-24-2002, 12:38 AM
You old Josh!!!??? LOL!!!! But I can believe you could get some gray hairs over us sometimes... ;);)
FaeLuna
10-24-2002, 12:46 AM
Do you really have grey hair? I had a boyfriend once and his grandfather went gray and SILVER haired when he turned TWENTY, and the poor guy's father went BALD on top when HE turned 20, so my boyfriend was 19 at the time and going nuts waiting to see what HIS hair did when he turned 20!! haha!! poor guy... I think nothing happened....
Helén
10-24-2002, 01:18 AM
That phenomena have it's own name. I don't remember it though. (Must have started go senile or something - to bad memory)
But I think Josh is exaggerating. Aren't you Josh? ;):)

What's the maximum allowed size for a signature image? By the way, the image is only 17kb, even though it looks big. It won't slow down any 56kers by much; the logo itself is 50kb+ ;)

The length is ok as it doesn't disrupt the tables, but the height is far too much as it triples the size of your post :P just trim the height and i'll be happy :p

Monkey - ITV Digital
Helén
10-24-2002, 08:45 AM
Grrrr. I go bananas on this
We get a lot here on TV from all parts of the world, but especially US. And almost everything the rename!! And it's very rare they write out the original title as well. Then you have all tgis other stuff from PC-world, PS2, Gameboy etcetera thay I'm not familiar to either.. *sighes* Anyway.
I know Simpsons - but not Simpletons. Monkeys - I've seen them on TV and in zoo.. ITV? Is that a new iv of some sort?? :p:p:p
And oh yes.. What has it to do with age or height???
lworley
10-24-2002, 09:31 AM
ugh let me explain Monkey is a name of a character who's a puppet for an advert for ITV digital which is a Digital TV service, simpletons is something he used to say
as in simple people.

just for discussion sake, I dont think age makes any difference, its how ya feel. And btw i've learned stuff from youngsters as well as seniors its amazing what can be learned from just stopping and taking time to look around you.
Helén
10-26-2002, 10:21 AM
Seems like you have some similar experiences as me then justygd. :)
And here's a place where you find a lot of young people with good heads and a lot of insights as well. Sometimes i get really startled when they tell me theire age! :);) They often "sound" like much older and experienced then they really are. :) They make it impossible to "feel my age". :classic::laugh:

Helén
10-26-2002, 02:33 PM
:classic: Soo true. You're as old as you feel. :classic: And yes justy - I'm the oldest here as far as I know, but I don't think the guys around here see me that way. ;);) But you're not THAT far behind. ;):p

My brother had remarkably small feet - size 6. I take size 7, but, then, so does my wife! I am around 5'8", somewhat small by today's standards and I am sure that I am steadily growing a little paunch. My age you already know because you know the year when I was born. Now you know all that there is to know about me. There really isn't much more to say. Very boring really.
FaeLuna
11-02-2002, 04:09 PM
Hey, you're 5'8" and so is my dad!! My mom is 5' 10" though, and my brother is now somewhere over 6 feet, but I'm only 5'4" or so, and my husband is 5'3" :D I heard somewhere that 5'8" was the average height for modern man... not sure if they haven't changed it lately though, like in the past 10 years....
FaeLuna
11-02-2002, 04:10 PM
the question of your age would depend on whether you've had your Birthday this year or not!! My dad hasn't yet, so he's still 68! :D ;) :p
PhilipTarbuck
11-03-2002, 08:10 AM
5th August. I cannot think what happened on that particular day, except that it was very close indeed to the dropping of, I believe, the first nuclear bomb.

er...i'm 5'8" and i'm short! ahh! besides, i don't got any grey hairs, not even from Nina :p
Helén
11-03-2002, 09:15 PM
Lol Tim!!!! I certainly hope not.. :classic:;) Nahh maybe you're not that short after all... I don't know all this feets. ;) I count in meters and centimeters. But that would mean about 7 cm longer than me... hmm... 172-173 cm. Well not short, but you're not that tall either Tim. :classic::classic:) Cuz I'm 5'5'' and tha'ts 165 cm.
:D

I saw a programme recently that said that everyone should be able to live to 200 or 300, and with a decent quality of life. Does that mean that I would be able to get up in the morning?
Helén
11-11-2002, 05:37 AM
Lol Philip.
That's a really good question. :classic:
Another question is: What does they mean by a "decent quality of life"??
FaeLuna
11-11-2002, 12:33 PM
I wonder how rich you have to be to AFFORD "decent quality of life"!!! :p
If 5'8" is average, then you're not SHORT Tim!! You're just not TALL! :D You're taller than me and my hubby! :)
Helén
11-11-2002, 03:13 PM
How true Fae. *sighes deeply*

11-12-2002, 05:32 AM
lol,u guyz r all taller than me,hehe ;)
PhilipTarbuck
11-13-2002, 12:27 PM
I am getting taller and taller when compared to my wife. Gradually, and in little tiny bits, admittedly.
'Quality of Life' means, I think, enjoying life. Not sleeping all day - but not tired either. Have a reasonable amount of energy and a bit of good sense so you know what is really pleasant and what is not.
My grandson has managed to get into the local Schools Band and he goes to Vienna this year, and to the Royal Albert Hall and/or the Festival Hall. He plays clarinet and saxophone, but not both at once. He is 13. I might just have mentioned him before - in fact I know I have!
I might actually be the tallest one here... I'm 6' 1" (about 185 cm).
If you lived to be 200, you would outlive your friends, spouse, children, and some of your grandchildren, would you really want that?
Helén
11-14-2002, 02:15 AM
Heh Droz. The new aging would of course be the same for most people. :classic:
And so one wouldn't outlive them. :classic:
Only if everyone followed the steps, which would probably mean doing things that most people don't want to do or giving up things that most people don't want to part with.
Helén
11-14-2002, 11:33 AM
Heh Droz. Do you have anything special in mind maybe?? ;) ;)
Anyway you're probably right (as usual). But I think that many enough would be old enough so you wouldn't be left totally alone. :classic:
FaeLuna
11-15-2002, 06:29 PM
There's also the fact that, at any age, you have or WILL probably outlive people you know anyway, AND you can always make new YOUNGER friends too you know! ;) :)
The oldest person I actually knew was 102 when she died, and I got to go to her 101st Birthday party the year before that, it was great! She played the violin in the Symphony Orchestra with my mother, and she played a Violin Solo at her party! :) I got to visit her house and she had an adorable little dog, she was having a good life all the way through. I was very impressed by her. :)

People who come from hill regions - such as Norway - are (generally) smaller than those who come from flat regions - such as East Anglia, say. They are sturdier as well.
People who have thing lips and noses, i.e. not flatter noses as some races have, are likely to come from a colder climate.
There - now isn't that clever? No? Ah Well.
timz2rules
11-18-2002, 05:56 PM
actually, its more interesting, and its a proven fact that if your a male you will be at least one to three inches taller then your dad, a female one to three inches taler then your mom :D
Helén
11-18-2002, 07:54 PM
Well not in my family.. :classic: I'm only 2 cm (less than 1 inch) taller than my mom and my daughter is the same as me, despiteher father is taller than mine was. So??? ;)

I’m so glad that I’m not the oldest person here! **sighs with relief** I’m also quite pleased to find out that I’m not the only adult on the planet who likes to play Sims, I was beginning to think I was a touch pathetic! But now that I know you all are as well I feel much better!
Err, hang on that didn’t come out right. Umm, I’m not calling you all pathetic Ummkay!

Hello Xanthist!! Nice to see you! :classic: And I'f it's pathetic to play Sims as an adult - where do you draw the line?? At the age you become an adult?? hehe, then we are sooo many pathetic ones, that that couldn't be true. :classic:
No I don't think we are pathetic. It's totally ok to play cards, no matter how old you are, or chess.. so why not PC games? Game s are games.. That's my opinion anyway. :classic:
And may the real pathetics envy us! That's those who doesn't dare to admit that playing a game would be fun.
