Oh my...it seems I missed a real marital blow-out here...

And to think that my opinion of Oink as a serious contender for the hand of Snake has been destroyed by his reckless disregard for her and the youngsters...For shame Oink! Beware Michelle, if he can throw Snake and their children to the wayside, he can be ruthless to you too!! :O

I hold Michelle blameless in this situation Oink for I know that she was overwhelmed by your charm

Here it is Phillip: But I could have sworn the fourth line was "They'd banish us you know." I found it @PoemHunter.com.

I'm Nobody! Who are you? (260)

I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you--Nobody--too?
Then there's a pair of us?
Don't tell! they'd advertise--you know!

How dreary--to be--Somebody!
How public--like a Frog--
To tell one's name--the livelong June--
To an admiring Bog!

Emily Dickinson

Also, wb to Colonel Froggie who (I think) hasn't posted for awhile..You're our forum's Frog Prince!! :) Just don't be kissing any of the girls!

Some frogs
have their own rocks
where they sit...
and think
and wink
and look at the world
and nap
and snap
and pretend to be fierce
Sometimes, they play hide and seek,
or leap frog.
And in the evenings
they sing.
They sing high
and low
AND LOUD
and soft
blp...
Some pucker their lips and whistle.
And to this very day
some frogs
have their own rocks.
Some,
But not all...

I'm doing pretty good, FaeLuna. Can't complain. ;)

I got back from a day in the city, (looking at ferrets and boas), if was fun for the most part. The little ferrets they had at the one pet shop were soooo cute, (there needs to be a happy-cry smilie here), I'm planning on buying on for myself; much better than a video game in my opinion. They're so hyper and curious about everything - it makes me wonder what kind of mischief they'll get into?

The only downside is that I will not be able to play with it outside due to the more-than-obvious fact that my dogs will kill anything smaller than themselves. :( Oh, well, I'm sure it will have more than enough things to play with inside. :)

Oooo, my hamsters had some babies a couple weeks ago and now they're almost big enough to explore all of the trails they have. Once they get their fur they become a bit more cute and cuddly.

Long story short. I love animals. :D

FaeLuna

That's cool you're looking at getting a Ferret! My friend (now sort of ex-friend) had one I got to play with and visit, but she forgot to feed him and he ate his nylon hammock and then starved to death and she only found him weeks later. It was horrible. :( I'm sure YOU will be a GOOD ferret owner!!! Sorry your dogs will keep you from playing outside together though.

Colonel Froggie

Solution to the dog problem: Tie 'em to a tree.

Oh my. :(

That is horrible, poor fluffy little guy. Did she go on a trip and not know it didn't have food or is she just really neglectful when it comes to pets?

I would tie the dogs to the tree, Froggie. But I have three of them and four cats so it would be pretty hard to keep them all caged up while I play outside with the ferret. They're too expensive to try it too. ;)

Oh shush Oink. :p I'm a good pet owner when it comes to everything, except hamsters, but I'm better with them now..

She was really really neglectful. :( That was the really sad part, it starved to death while she was in the same room with him most of the time she was home. :( She felt bad about it afterwards but she really shouldn't have been trying to keep a caged pet who couldn't get your attention to beg for food or go scrounge up some on his own.

Sounds like you'd have a pretty wild time trying to round up all your cats and dogs to confine them to let your ferret out!! :o

I don't know how she could feel bad afterwards? She had a few days to feed it before it would have starved; she should have known it was hungry seeing as they need to eat about every three hours because they're hyper and have a small digestive track. Tisk. Those are the animals I actually feel sorry for.

Haha. Meh. If I do get one I don't think I'll ever let it out of the house, unless my dogs die. I'd feel pretty bad if he got eatten.

One thing that makes me really nervous about them is their tendancy to get cancer. I was talking to AFS (Alberta Ferret Sociaty, at least that's what I think their name was) and the one girl said that it's a really common illness in ferrets. They think it's because they get fixed so young, when it should probably only be done when they're around six months of age.

I went to Edmonton yesterday morning with my parents. It was pretty fun, but my dad was getting annoyed with the traffic in that city. A lot of morons, when it comes to driving, in it too.
We went to a few pet stores around the city and saw a few ferrets, unfortunately a lot were sold out this close to Christmas.
There was this albino one they had and it was quite cute and hyper. Let him smell my hand just out of range of his teeth, but my brother wasn't thinking so he put his finger in the cage and got bit. Right away dad was wondering if he needed a shot for it.
It was funny though. ;)

On a different note... Longest rant post ever and: Yay, Christmas. :D

Oh Oinkie...don't you think it's time to come out of the closet..er, cupboard...I'm not even trying to find you!!

*grabs a fresh donut*

I liked Snake's rant about the ferrets...seems hard to believe that someone could forget to feed a pet especially when the animal is in the SAME room! Was she deaf as well as blind? Did the animal not try to get her attention? Did she not think that since she was filling her face that maybe the ferret could use food too? Gee, that's even worse than forgetting a hamster in his hamster ball for a few days...no one really mourns the loss of a ratlike thing when there are 15 others in the cage, but ferrets are cute (and expensive)!! Gee, I'd hate to see your friend if she ever had a child?

Anyhoo, on a less rantlike topic...Is everyone all ready for Christmas? :)

I did my shopping in the past few weeks but left it up to hubby to get the kids some of their bigger gifts this year. (I usually pick video games and he disapproves so told him he could take charge for once). Well, today is Christmas Eve and he still hasn't made it to the store to get them their gifts or anything for me....hmmm, and he doesn't think that he's a procrastinator? Don't be surprised if I tell you the next time I post that all he got me was some car fresheners and windshield wiper blades from some garage that stayed open late!! I had gotten him to drive me to the city earlier this month so we could do some shopping but he got so stressed with how busy it was that we just did some company business there then came home...without ANY gifts!! Now he thinks the 24th will be less crowded? Yeah, I told him it'll be less crowded alright....on the store shelves...that's right...everything the kids want will be gone and picked over...I'm not bitter, I'm just frustrated that every year he complains about what I pick but can't seem to do better...at least when I do it they have something under the tree!! Hmm, maybe I should have posted this in the Rant section....

In response to my previous post I need to say that actually hubby did manage to get in some shopping before closing time...I was given money to put into a card for one kid then the other I was told to make a christmas card telling him that his dad would take him shopping for a bike before summer. Our daughter was okay as I'd picked up a couple of items for her elsewhere but hadn't made up my mind as to whether I would give them to her or not. He bought me a bottle of perfume and a jacket that is way too big but. hey, it's the thought that counts! Right?

FaeLuna
12-30-2003, 07:41 PM
Way to big is generally better than way too small when it comes to clothes... my current pjs were a gift from my in-laws last year and they're about 4 sizes too big!! But that makes them extra baggy and comfy so I kind of laugh, roll up the sleeves, and feel pampered. :p

I'm rereading the trilogy for .... maybe the 25th time or so. :p Haven't been able to see it yet - but I SO want to!!!! Even if they cut out some parts and redid others, they've manage to hold it all so far "on track". I'm impressed by the way they've done the characters. I really am.

All three Lord of the Rings movies have been really great for the look and FEEL of the books I think, even though they had to rework a few details for the sake of making it work in movie format. My hubby is all twitching in anticipation of the release of the movies as a complete set... we've avoided buying any versions of each movie alone because he wants the trilogy all at once... but it's meant waiting and waiting... and waiting! Sorry Molly...I don't know that answer to the 4 leaf clover...but agree that Mr. Bloom makes a very cute elf....

I just want to congratulate Nina and Fae on their good taste as I admit that I too am a real Tolkien fan and have read the books several times and even have bought each of my kids their own personal sets. I think Peter Jackson and his crew have done an excellent job of putting the books on screen and stayed true to the heart of the books in my opinion. I have bought the first 2 DVDs (extended versions of course) and am anxiously awaiting the 3 one to come out. I have enjoyed all of the movies very much...

It's no wonder that they say that the Lord of the Rings trilogy is the most read story of the century. Tolkien was an inspired writer and everytime I reread the books I pick up on something I missed before...eg. when I reread them this last time the conversation between Frodo and Faramir is amazing as you see how Faramir plays "good cop/bad cop" with Frodo and while Frodo doesn't fall for the "friendship" scam, Sam does. It works out in the end but you can see why Frodo was so cautious at revealing information to Faramir as he is a clever interrogator.
I can hardly wait for the 3rd extended DVD to come out as I only got to see the movie in the theatre once before it left town and would like to see it again when I'm not so tired (was really hosed the last viewing...ack! :( )

ladyanarchthreeaysee, in the future use the edit (http://forums.worldsims.org/forums/images/gsets/vb/edit.gif) button.

Yeah, I can't wait until the third LOTR gets on DVD... then I can watch X-number hours of commentaries and the full, uncut, version of the movie... back-to-back! :O

*shock*

Yes, I am really pleased with how the LOTR movies turned out... and they couldnt have picked better actors to live up to such a great story!

Absolutely! I just love the guy who played Aragorn in it. *swoon* oh, and the other actors were good too. ;)

Yeppir Helen...I got it from my hubby...he says that I make up for him hardly ever reading...I read all his books for him!! :)

I just loved LOTR even before the movies came out...I've even bought all 3 "Visual Companion" books for the movies plus the book on how the Special Effects were all done...Talk about a die-hard fanatic...lol :) Plus, Legolas and Aragorn and some others are pretty easy on the eyes.... :O

IrishDragon
02-25-2004, 11:21 AM
*sigh* Yes... yes they are VERY easy on the eyes hehe. And YES I would say you are a die-hard fan of LOTR lol but thats okay because im that way with Braveheart... my all time favorite movie!

mangrovejane
02-26-2004, 02:39 PM
ooohhh....Braveheart! Nice pick! Got to say though...I really enjoyed Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo in it. Thought that was a FANTASTIC rendition of a classic. Though LOTR trilogy would be my absolute all-time favourite for sure now....Not quite such a fanatic as Book though ;)

IrishDragon
02-26-2004, 06:04 PM
Oh I absolutly LOVED Romeo and Juliet with Claire and Leonardo in it!!! And Titanic :D

Helén
02-26-2004, 10:24 PM
Braveheart - yeah. Great movie, even if one has to take the "historical facts" as probably mixed and not really true. Mel Gibson does have something - doesn't he? For some reason he really appeals to me - and so does Sean Connery and Harrison Ford. Dunno why really.....

And Aragorn - the best looking dane I've ever seen. And I lived in Copenhagen for almost 2 years in the 80's. ;)

OH Spot on Helen! Mel, a fellow aussie and a spunk! and Sean, the best Bond ever! and no matter how old they get they are still spunky boys!

Hmmm, yes there are some attractive males out there but I've got to be careful or my drool will short out my keyboard... :p

It must be something to do with the LOTR movies though because I just saw Viggo Mortensen and Orlando Bloom in some interviews and they just don't look as hunky without their Aragorn/Legolas makeup....sigh....whereas, I find Mel Gibson as cute in interviews as in his movies (2 thumbs up for Braveheart!! Who said men's legs couldn't be sexy?! Mel in a kilt...hmmm...)...excuse me while I dream.....

IrishDragon
02-27-2004, 12:22 PM
Excuse me while I drool!! Mel is just awsome all around and oh so hunky (my husband get jelious when we watch a movie with Mel in it b/c I like him so much lol) and Sean... you gotta love that voice! To bad their arent to many like them comming up in Hollywood lately. And I agree with you Book, Viggo and Orlando arent as hunky without their Aragorn/Legolas look but still got something going for them ;)

mangrovejane
02-28-2004, 02:12 AM
*sigh* too true. I'll only ever remember them as those characters. I try to avoid watching them in interviews and such because it was them acting their parts in the tale I really want to remember. And even though Aragorn was so dirty and dishevelled most of the time, it was just how the character was portrayed. The honour and fairness and passion of them to overcome *gets a towel to catch the drool* was most of what made them so spunky.

Aaaah, it's good to be back in the coffeehouse again! :p Good thing I brought some towels to soak up all this drool! :o heehee!

Let's see, I've gone off and dropped off the face of the web for a while, I was sucked into my console games and books I've been reading to distract myself while waiting for Sims 2! And I've just recently discovered FLAVORED COFFEES!! :D What's new with everyone else?

Yes there are some hunky young men out there....:p

If you liked the flavored coffees you might like the instant chai teas...

They come in instant? I didn't know that! I've only tried a chai tea at a restaraunt once, and I liked it, but wasn't sure about making it at home. Probably not something I can have right now on my diet, but I'll go looking for them for later! :)

suitemichelle
03-31-2004, 06:55 AM
:p There is sugar in it just like in some of those instant flavored coffees. But if you can get to a Sam's Club or a Costco you can get the Chai base in a package like you get soymilk and then add sweetner of choice... I don't know for sure. But it makes a nice change.

I have the same trouble with seeing what I'm typing too. So I highlight the type color and choose before I start. And to see whats already typed I have to highlight the paragraph and then read it in blue.... lol

Thanks for the towels, Fae but I thought that Bibs would be a better idea as it'll leave our hands free for our coffee and donuts!!

*hands out over-sized bibs to all my fellow-droolers*

I'm just sitting here waiting patiently (not!) for the 3rd DVD of LOTR..."Oh, Aragorn, Aragorn, wherefore art thou oh Aragorn.." (my sincerest apologies to the Bard for appropriating his words)...

As for Chai Tea...sorry, gals, I never heard of it...must be living in the boondocks or something....I do have some flavored coffee though...

FaeLuna
03-31-2004, 12:43 PM
Thanks for the bib! :D *tucks hers in carefully and starts in on the coffee and doughnuts* Yum!

My hubby has waited patently for the whole SET of the Lord of the Rings movies to be out, he didn't want to buy them one at a time but all the WAITING was HARD for him, haha! :)

Chai tea seems to be one of the big trends right now, so it'll probably have to get bigger and trendier to infiltrate places not so big and trendy in the first place, if that makes sense. I hadn't heard of it till recently but I've discovered my friends in larger cities have known about it as being popular for a while now. :p

I am waiting for the Return of the King EE DVD, it seems I may have to wait till August.
The theatrical version might be released in May

FaeLuna
04-09-2004, 05:49 PM
I'll have to check now to see if my hubby wanted the theatrical release or extended versions of the trilogy... I'd guess extended... :)

Bookworm42
04-27-2004, 03:31 PM
I really prefer the extended versions as it often contains information that really helps the movie to make sense or adds dimension to the characters whereas the theatrical version is the edition that was edited for time constraints for the public release...It really makes a big difference to me so would recommend it to others...

FaeLuna
04-28-2004, 03:56 PM
It's almost May now... so it's a short wait for all that extended footage now! ;) I admit I'm kind of glad they DO edit for time etc. in the theatrical release or I wouldn't be able to sit through the movie! I'm SO grateful for the pause button at home!!! :p

04-29-2004, 02:48 PM
LOL...actually I have to agree with you on the uncomfortable theatre seats...it's kinda a wash with that issue because one finds oneself getting more into the show on that big screen and it giving you more of an impact but one does find one's butt getting numb after an extended time...I actually felt that way in the final show...I started getting tired of sitting there and starting thinking "get on with it Frodo...get rid of the d*** ring!!" ACK! And here I am a BIG fan of the series and I was getting impatient!! What can I say it had been a long day and sitting for several hours was a bit much! :tired:

FaeLuna
04-29-2004, 04:09 PM

FaeLuna

FaeLuna
05-28-2004, 01:51 PM

I agree! If you imagine it enough! You'll actually start to taste the frappachinos! Woo Hoo! Oh... Sorry to disrupt the quiet! Jees! I'd better stop getting so excited! Man. Maybe I'll take out my homework and try to do it! As I already said once! YUCK! But hey! Maybe it'll keep me quiet in this place!:D

Better late than never, somebody said at some point. Hiya Fae!!! :D

Wiener Melange is a combination of espresso, chocolate, vanilla and cream..... I love it, but can't get it everywhere.

So. What's going on???? Where is everybody?
