hmmm.. You will probably get some reactions Tess. I say.. lessen the intake a lot. Start eat apples or oranges instead. bananas are good too.. or grapes. That sugar is far more healthier for you. and cut down the white sugar a lot, :);) And I say you will be mush better off with everything. :classic:

Helén
10-28-2002, 09:18 AM
Ok then Tess. But fruit cantains lots of vitamins and bananas also minerals that you need, so cutting out fruits are not so goos. better cutting out all white suger, cookies, chips , candy.... and replace it with fruit. :)

ManagerJosh

You could never do that Tess....your body would get sugars from the food you eat.

Helén

True! :classic:

You'd still get some sugars from veggies even if you cut out all fruit! :D I had to give up carrots and squash for my low carb diet because they have natural sugars in them that would put me over my carb limit!! Now I'm taking a break in my diet and eating carrots like mad!! :p

I grew up without being allowed ANY white sugar, also called sucrose and dextrose. We had to read labels on stuff like canned peas and ketchup because they put it in EVERYTHING it seemed!! :p For sweets we had fruit and honey. :D

ManagerJosh

Look at the bright side Fae....carrots are good for your eyes :)

ManagerJosh
10-28-2002, 06:01 PM

FaeLuna
10-28-2002, 06:04 PM
That happened to my Aunt when she was a baby and wouldn't eat ANYTHING except strained carrots babyfood!! She turned orange and got jaundice, the DR said make her eat something else and no more carrots for a while!!!

Helén
10-28-2002, 06:27 PM

I want the caffinated soap, evidently its supposed to infuse the caffine directly into your body so that you don't need to drink coffee to wake up in the morning.

PhilipTarbuck

Can you eat so many oranges that you turn into a carrot?
I saw a National Geographic article recently. Apparently a change in diet can cause you to live to 120 years and a complete change in everything and we might live to 200/300 years old. I am sure that is what they said. Perhaps they just said that it would feel like it.

sugar_junkie

Think about what most people end up doing once they turn 80, 90, or 100; they go to a nursing home. Would you want to live in a nursing home for 100 years?

PhilipTarbuck
11-13-2002, 03:14 PM
But they suggested in the programme I saw that the quality of life - i.e. the ability to enjoy life - would be very much better than it is now. You might, then, go into a nursing home when you are 180 or 280.

Geez!! How awful.. or is it? Maybe good - I don't know.

I'm not sure I want to keep this body for that long ;) But I think it's possible too.

Or get hit by a car by the time you reach 120, the statisitcs have to catch up to you at some point and "random occurances" kill you (except for a vary lucky few).

You can make a glass-like substance using several types of sugar (I just forget which ones).

Helén
11-14-2002, 11:55 AM
Chrystalline??

Droz
11-14-2002, 02:16 PM
Its something like, white cane sugar, corn syrup, and something else.

Helén
11-14-2002, 08:35 PM
Icing?

Droz
11-15-2002, 04:39 PM
No, it actually comes out hard like glass (and sharp too).

Helén
11-15-2002, 07:14 PM
Oh. I meant if you used icing or that sugar that is like flour. But it sounds interesting. I don't think i've ever seen it.

FaeLuna
11-15-2002, 08:35 PM
I thought that the sugar glass was what they used on movie sets because it WASN'T very sharp when it shattered!! :P

Jake
11-15-2002, 09:21 PM

lol, yep, could you imagine stayin in a glass house?? cooliez!! :D

Droz
11-16-2002, 08:14 PM
That kind of sugar glass is a lot more expensive, they also use it to build everything glass on submarines so that if it breaks, nobody has to worry about it if at war (things such as ash trays).

Helén
11-16-2002, 08:16 PM
Good thinking for once about the utensiles. On the other hand - war is never good thinking to me.. :classic:

sugar_junkie
11-18-2002, 04:05 AM
yep...war is neva a good thing...

*imaginez a glass submarine* cooliez :) :D

timz2rules
11-18-2002, 06:12 PM
war isn't good, but the sugar glass idea may or may not work, it depends on its strength, and it could never be a submarine with the presure a sub takes, thats why its made out of steel ;)

Helén
11-18-2002, 07:33 PM
I think stuff that usually is done in glass inside the subs are made of this - whatever it's called. :classic:

timz2rules
11-26-2002, 08:22 PM
there is certain things i guess yeah, but isn't it presurized down tere, so they can breath and all that stuff...?

Helén
11-27-2002, 12:39 PM
Yes, but I think modern subs have a pressure that gives like almost a normal atmosphere and if it's manufactured right it should stand that pressure.
But do we really KNOW they have this "glass" in subs? I only think it's a good idea. I can't say for sure.

FaeLuna
12-14-2002, 04:00 AM
oh dear!! Well.. you would have liked my kitchen earlier today then!! I finally cleaned the fridge and freezer that had a can of cola AND a can of red soda explode in it... at different times... about 6 months ago... AND I swept about a month of kitty food debris up and SCRAPED what had gotten wet and dried on the tile... AND I finally cleaned the STOVE where I had a terrible hot chocolate pouring accident last week!! I had to wait for my hubby to come home and pry off the last burner cover that was WELDED on with the re-heated hot chocolate BONDING it to the stove top! ;)

We've had a rough month with me having troubles and everything gets away from under control!! :p

sugar_junkie
12-14-2002, 04:13 AM
wow! i'm real wierd i like being messy but i like cleanin up too.. :p

Helén
12-14-2002, 07:12 AM
Lol Fae. I had rolled out the stove.... Do I have to say more ???
Catdebris... well. My Opus is areal messy cat. He scopes out food with his paw on the floor then he eats half of it.. Then he scopes out some more and so on.. he has his own mat to be on - but nooooo way.. ;)

Hmm yes what's the next target.. Oh yes the closet with all clothes. *sighes* Don't you just hate when things doesm't want to stay in place?? Time to sort out things as well in there. There's a lot I never use anymore - to small size. *sighes* I'm gonna give it to red cross i think. The clothes are perfectly ok. yeah..

*nods to herself and disappears into the closet*

Gaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FaeLuna
12-14-2002, 03:19 PM
Yes yes!! The cat debris thing come mainly of the ONE cat, Skywise, who scoops the food out with his paw!! And he also scoots the dish all around on the floor, and sometimes knocks over the water bowl too! Then you get WET cat food!! ugh! :( :p We don't have a food mat for them... I've thought of getting one... and thought of getting a weighted food bowl too! But I don't want to just end up with a wet messy caked on food MAT!! :p

The closet... yeeeeeeeeek! :p I went and sorted out a bag of clothes that was too small... then we put it in the storage room... I think it's now in the trunk of the car.... We wanted to give it to Goodwill. Even with that cleaned out there is too much STORAGE type STUFF in the closet! :p

sugar_junkie
12-14-2002, 08:20 PM

I really don't like go shopping things and clothes. True. I write down what I need go to the store and get it and then I get out asap.
